In order to avoid being picked up by any HYDRA or SHIELD radar, Hawkeye had to take a less than conventional route to get them to the city. It added on to their flight time significantly, and then once they arrived, Novikova had gone to make contact with Pym. If anyone else went to initially meet him, well, he was a flight risk. He didn't trust SHIELD - for good reason. It was finally around 3:00 AM that they were all able to meet up in Pym's lab at Pym Technologies. The second Ant-Man, Scott Lang, was unavailable. He had his daughter for the week. Bonnie was feeling surprisingly alert given the hour. She had woken up during the flight finding Flynn's arm around her, keeping her from being jostled too much from the turbulence. Her face had gone bright red and she wasn't really sure what to say, not even having mentioned anything about it as the plane landed and they eventually got into contact with Pym. She liked Flynn, but she was also scared of moving too fast. She had been standing still since her husband died and every little baby step felt like a leap at supersonic speed. Novikova, meanwhile, hadn't really been able to get any sleep on the flight. Her eyes were heavy but she was determined to stay awake, having drank more caffeine than was likely healthy but she needed to be alert for Sparky. There was a certain bit of guilt in her heart for how she had treated Maria - the sort of things she had asked her to do just earlier today, things that could have ended Maria's career. That was selfish of her. If she had been able to close her eyes and repeat this day, she wouldn't have involved Maria. She would have gone alone. "So this is what passes for SHIELD agents these days..." Dr. Hank Pym muttered, his arms crossed as they entered the lab. There was a helmet looking device to his right, with numerous wires hooked up to an enormous circuit board. A gigantic device, lined with copper wile and looking almost like a gateway, stood across the room from them. Various ants and other bugs crawled all over the floor, moving whenever someone took a step in order to clear space. "Calibrations are complete, Dad," Hope Van Dyne, daughter of the original Ant-Man and the Wasp, as well as the current holder of the Wasp mantle, said as she finished up at a computer. The entire facility was cutting edge, enough to make those who graduated from Sci-Tech or Communications drool a little bit at all there was to offer. "So uh... how does this work and is it safe?" Barton asked. Bonnie had a makeshift medical station set up at one of the spare tables. They weren't sure what condition those stranded in the Quantum Realm would come out in, and while Tempest had the ability to heal, her powers could only do so much. Having a real doctor on standby was handy. Pym glanced up at Barton, grabbing the helmet with all of the wires and setting it on Novikova's head. "I'm not going to waste my time explaining it to you," Pym told Barton bluntly. "Are all rich scientists assholes?" Barton muttered. He awkwardly took a step forward, hoping not to step on any of the bugs. He had seen a few too many horror movies and had a vivid imagination - resulting in the image of the bugs swarming him all at once if he stepped in the wrong spot. "Chase, how are her vitals?" Pym asked. There was a monitor near Bonnie's work station of sorts. "...Brainwave activity is heightening," Bonnie said. Pym gently removed Novikova's glasses, with the silver haired mutant's thoughts being on Sparky as she took in a deep breath. "...Maria, I love you," Novikova said quietly. "Do it, Hank." "Initiating Ultron's Quantum Realm retrieval program in three... two... one..." Hank then hit a single button on the keyboard and Novikova let out an ear splitting scream, clenching onto the arms of the chair she was sitting in for dear life. The gateway Pym had built turned a slight shade of purple, but it was nothing more than mist. The robot he had built to retrieve them from the Quantum Realm had yet to activate. "Hope, increase the power," Pym said calmly. "Full throttle." Hope nodded, turning a few dials. Novikova's screams became more intense. "Full power achieved," she said, as the eyes of the robot began to glow blue. The light of the gateway seemed to solidify and the robot, Ultron, moved towards it methodically. The robot extended its arm and it seemed to vanish through the portal, its arm reaching into the Quantum Realm.
