Seeing the four black portals caused him to stop his training and he would see these heavily armed people as he would look at them, he knew he did not sin at all. He was outnumbered 4 to 1 and to make things worse he was unarmed which he knew it would appear easily to these guys that he was in fact easy pickings to them. Hearing their suggestion for him to run well it sounded better than standing here to be easy pickings before hearing the Cinder-ela sing at him.
