Alicia Moore has been married for ten years, with little more than two children and her house to show for it. Her husband is more like a ghost these days, often heard but rarely ever seen. In her heart, she knows the excuse of long days at the office and out of town conferences are lies, but she swallows her tears and her suspicions each time her husband walks out the door. The family has lived on the same street for the past four years. They've always been polite toward their neighbors, but never overly friendly. When one of her children becomes close friends with the kid next door, that changes. However, Alicia finds it odd that the father is the one always involved in their outings. Trips to the movies and whatever adventures their children cook up, he's the one present rather than his wife. Alicia doesn't pry, knowing it's none of her business, but when a moment of weakness strikes and he confesses to his own unhappy marriage, the two form a bond. It isn't long until the children aren't the only one who become friends. Soon she and her neighbor are meeting up without their children, talking about their problems over lunch or simply drowning away the stress with a glass of wine on her back patio. An attraction had always been there, but with both trying to retain the moral high ground, neither of them give into it. Outside of some mild flirting and a few innocent touches, the two remain in the friends' category; at least until Alicia finally witnesses her husband's indiscretions. Naturally, her neighbor is the first person she talks to, and she's surprised when he offers her a chance for a little revenge. Not long afterward, Alicia realizes that revenge isn't the only thing her neighbor wants.
There is the plot. I will warn that I would like for this to be a slow burn, so if you're looking for an instant romance, this probably isn't going to be your speed. As far as his marriage problems go, that is entirely up to you. The last two week of May is a hectic time for me. I can't promise a post every day, but at least every other day (As long as my brain works with me!) Definitely once a week with the possibility of more when I have the time and energy. Multiple characters are a must, that's just how I roll. My minimum post length is usually four paragraphs and I would like someone who can match me. If you're interested, drop me a PM and we can discuss things from there.
