Azul prefers a sniper rifle because it lets her keep her distance. She prefers not to use the more compact versions, but has them on hand if necessary. [B]Personality:[/B] Azul is a kind but timid girl. She likes to help others and be of use, but in many a situation she’s too scared of confrontation to be of much help. She is a meek person that dislikes having to point out anyone’s flaws, even some of the most glaring ones. She’s a people pleaser that will likely laugh along with jokes just to be polite, whether they’re actually funny or not. She also has a bad tendency to seek other’s approval, even if they’re the kindof people she shouldn’t ever want approval from.

When she’s not busy, she likes to keep herself busy. Whether that is by training or keeping up with a hobby is of no concern to her. She has developed a taste for gardening, and enjoys the idea of caring for plants until they reach maturity.

[B]Background:[/B] Azora Larkspur was a semi-famous Huntress who operated in Vale until ten years ago. While she was an excellent combatant, what most endeared her to people was her selflessness and generosity. It was clear to all that Azora Larkspur fought not for fame, money or bloodlust, but because she genuinely wished to make the world a safer place. Azora even invested most of the money she earned working back into the community. It was quite a tragedy for Vale when she died to a horde of ferocious Grimm.

Azul is Azora’s daughter. She wanted and still wants nothing more than to live up to her legacy. However, growing up, she had two big problems in her way. First and foremost, after her mother’s death, her father was desperately afraid of his children going on to get killed just like her, and he imparted that fear onto them. Azul still ended up attending Signal Academy, but soon found she just couldn’t be like her mother. Azora was a brilliant close quarters fighter, but not only did Azul have no real talent for it, but her father’s stories of death and tragedy on the battlefield made her all too timid in a fight. She was beginning to believe she could never be a Huntress.

Then she had an epiphany; while she couldn’t emulate her mother in every single way, she could always live up to her example. All she had to do was change tactics. After some experimentation, Azul found the best way for her to be effective was to fight while keeping distance from her opponents. Her agility and flight would keep her out of the range of swords and spears while she sniped and hurled explosives from afar. Her fighting style, if unorthodox, proved effective. Azul would have gone on to attend Beacon Academy, but a mix of the fact some people remembered the foolishly timid young girl she had been and the fact that Azora’s legacy was fresh in some people’s minds, Azul decided that a less familiar location might help her development better. 

She decided upon Shade because she had heard they were more accepting of Faunus in Vacuo, even if the country was a rough place otherwise.


[B]Likes[/B]: Azul likes to sing, take care of plants, and to place a round through the head of a Grimm at a thousand paces.
[B]Dislikes[/B]: Azul is a permissive person usually, but she definitely doesn’t like people making fun of her Faunus features.

[B]Favors[/B]: Azul is an incredible marksman, capable of taking down multiple Grimm at a distance and even managing decent accuracy while moving. She is a fast and agile combatant, and is adept at ducking and weaving around opponents, especially when she can take flight.
[B]Disfavors[/B]: Firstly she just plain sucks in a direct fight. She has never properly practised with a melee weapon and she is flat out terrified that something will kill her up close. This pre-disposition against direct combat has also made her a bit of a glass cannon, and she will be badly effected by any hits she takes, both physically and mentally.
