[@The Fated Fallen] Whatever you want to do is fine! We do need a first mate, but don't feel obligated to fill that position. Worst comes to worst, I can make a second character to fill in the gap.

Or maybe you can have a first mate that doubles as the cook  and first mate lol (btw was that a Star Trek reference?)
