For the last solar decade, the Phaeton Empire has been at war with the Kothar. Countless souls have been lost, and planets have been completely wiped off the map. Lush, verdant fields have turned to ash, soaked in the blood of friend and foe alike. The war rages on, but the people grow tired; weary of fighting. They demand peace at gunpoint–the Phaeton Empire teetering on the brink of civil war–with their little rebellions, forcing the military to divert troops from the battlefield to rip root and stem before it has a chance to spread like wildfire. But this isn't the tale of cocky rebels with itchy trigger fingers; no, this is the tale of Phaetonia! You are a member of the PNSC Arcona, a Murane-class destroyer, currently stationed off the coast of Vortu Prime to receive prisoners of war–pesky rebels that the Army didn't put down–destined for a penal colony. However, as the destroyer leaves for the penal colony, dangerous whispers begin echoing through the halls. The prisoners demand blood–the very blood of the crew serving aboard the ship. Good thing you brought your las pistol with you.

Hi there! If you're reading this, then let me explain a few things. Firstly, this will be a roleplay using the Open Legend system (which is completely free!). After a friend introduced me to the rules, I decided to try them out myself as GM for once. The idea behind the rule set is to put more of a focus on the roleplaying aspect of a tabletop campaign, rather than the dice crunching. If you're someone who likes to roll for everything or worry over every detail, then this roleplay probably isn't for you. Secondly–and this is likely to turn people away–this will be an anime roleplay, with anime face claims and so on and so forth. When it comes to anime sci-fi, everyone prefers dabbling in the mecha genre, therefore I wanted to do something different with good old space ships. Characters will obviously be in uniform, but don't worry about finding a face claim wearing one. Bonus points to you if you do wish to bother with finding something along those lines, though. Finally, I'm looking for five-to-six people max that can write at least a casual level once per week. I've found that being descriptive helps a lot in tabletop (who knows, you might find an improvised weapon or something), and a weekly post keeps the ball rolling where other roleplays might fizzle out. Seeing tabletop campaigns die off is often more painful than a regular roleplay, given you have to fill another sheet on top of a sheet. Let's not have that happen to us, okay?
