I'm not upset with you, or anyone..." Eliza's voice faded as she noticed Colin reaching for his bow. His eyes were focused on the treeline, and she slowly turned to follow his gaze. She squinted, picking up glints of steel and a clump of rags in the moonlight. Vitius. Eliza nearly reached for Colin's hand to prevent him from doing anything rash, but she stopped herself short. When he was all riled up, there was no way of knowing how he'd react to touch. A flustered wheeze came out of Eliza's throat as Colin's accusatory tone broke through the night. He really wasn't being helpful. If she were to be completely honest, none of them were. She watched with eyes wide as the vampire picked up his pace, kicking up cakey chunks of mud and pebbles until he drew near. She went to put herself between him and Colin, but there was very little room to do so. Reaching into her knapsack, she waited, her body abnormally still. She certainly didn't expect what happened next. His hand rose, slapping Colin across the face with ease. Eliza spluttered. Why were they all trying to kill him? She stared at Colin, then her gaze flew to Vitius, who was stepping into the inn as if nothing had happened. Seeing this, she felt...enraged. That thing had been in chains, he had been sentenced. His rights had flown out the window the instant he had done, whatever it was he had done! Something within her heart darkened, at least for the moment. Leaving Colin, she stomped after the vampire, two fire charms in hand. She wasn't sure if she had the gall to use them, but at least she had them if Vitius -or Nyssa, depending on whose side she chose- decided to get all bitey. Rolling up the sleeve of her throwing arm, she stared down the back of Vitius' head with eyes blazing. She approached, wishing she had the strength to turn him around the way Kate had with Nyssa. Instead, she yelled at his back. "What in Goddess' name do you think you're doing?" She balled her free hand up into a fist until her knuckles were pale. "Do you not realize that they could kill you for that? That in every way you're just some disposable creature with a life that means less than nothing?" "Touch him again, and I'll make sure that the Reds leave your body in the sun to burn." She was sure she'd get in trouble for tattling on a fellow hood, but that didn't matter much to her at this point. Her body was practically shaking from restraint. She glanced at Kate and Meg. If she were thinking straight, she'd feel more than a bit embarrassed by her behavior.
