Kalinda frowned when he cut himself off, but didn't push the topic. It was clearly troubling. "Just my mother. Never knew my father" She said, "No brothers, or sisters. I wanted a puppy, but my mother said I couldn't have one. Something about she'd be the one to clean up after it, even though I would have given anything for one" 

She studied the food, pleased, and somewhat touched that there was no meat on any of the plates. "You could have got yourself meat, you know" She said, "I don't eat it because it makes me feel sick, not because of any animal rights thing"
