House Mormont of Bear Island has stood beside House Stark for ten millennia and counting, having bathed their undying loyalty in blood. The War of the Five Kings, primarily the diabolical Red Wedding, and the Long Night had nearly rendered House Mormont extinct, losing multiple members of their household defending the Northern lands. Not unlike their house words, however, House Mormont refused to falter, and were one of the first to assist in rebuilding the North. Now, Bear Island stands as a home port for Northern sailors, protected by a growing fleet backed by the mighty warriors of House Mormont.
Head of House
?? Mormont
Seat
Bear Island
Demesne
Whilst House Mormont are loyal bannermen of the North and House Stark, they are neither large nor powerful. No noble house holds vassalage to their name, and Mormont rule extends only to Bear Island and the surrounding waters.
Recent History

By the turn of the third century, House Mormont was nearly wiped off the map. The Mormont heir, Dacey, was slaughtered at the Red Wedding, and Alysane, Jeor (although he could no longer claim lordship of the house as a man of the Night's Watch), Jorah, and Maege had been among the many casualties of the Long Night. Whilst the Mormonts still had several daughters, the male line was largely extinct, save for Joren Mormont, who was but a babe at the turn of his secession to the head of the house. Were it not for Lyra Mormont, who stepped in as head until Joren was of age, House Mormont might've fallen into nothingness. Lyra, who was one of the first to realize the full extent of the destruction wrought upon the North, had been equally quick to begin the rebuilding process. Unlike most of the North, Bear Island was largely untouched by the undead, and for the first time, in a stronger position than the mainland. Refugees were welcomed into their fold, and Mormont lumber was exported throughout the North to assist rebuilding efforts.

Realm Relations
House Arryn
House Mormont has no formal relations with House Arryn, but they hold a positive opinion to their house, given the bonds they share to the North and their aid in the War of the Dawn.
House Baratheon
House Baratheon is on the other side of Westeros, miles away from House Mormont, and yet the bear regards the stag well. Mormont banners were alongside Stannis at Winterfell and against the Others, and there was a time when Jorah had fought with Gendry and the Brotherhood of Banners. With Lyonel having been a ward at Winterfell, too, the Mormonts continue to view the Baratheons warmly.
House Frey
Stubbornly, House Mormont refuses to have any interaction with House Frey unless the situation requires it. The Mormonts had been slightly pleased at the choice of noose or taking the black given to those who participated in the Red Wedding, yet allowing House Frey to keep the Twins roils House Mormont with anger. What good do "taxes and tariffs" do if House Frey will simply make it back once the treaty wears off?
House Greyjoy
Whilst House Mormont has no official relations with House Greyjoy, history has formed a rift between the two houses. The Mormonts see the Krakens as warmongers, with their house often forced to take up arms against the ironborn that would frequently target their island. Should they decide to target the North, the Mormont fleet stands ready, eager to slaughter the opposing force as Alysane did off the coast of Deepwood Motte. Of course, this is simply hypothetical, and the ice could be thawed between the two houses should they be willing.
House Hightower
Ever since Lynesse had wed Jorah, House Mormont has been troubled regarding House Hightower. Some Mormonts view the Hightowers with disdain, whereas others have made an attempt to let bygones be bygones. Despite quite the divided opinion, however, the Mormonts haven't had any other relations since, mainly owing to the fact that each house lies on separate ends of Westeros.
House Lannister
Like most Northern houses that had been at the Red Wedding, House Mormont have gained a cold hatred for House Lannister. Despite the blame being pushed onto House Frey, House Lannister had helped orchestrate the ambush that slaughtered Dacey Mormont, who had been Kingsguard to Robb Stark and heir to House Mormont at the time. The North remembers, as does House Mormont, forever and always.
House Manderly
Relations between House Mormont and Manderly are troubled, to say the least. They were enemies, once, during the Bolton era, and it is obvious distrust exists between them. Still, House Mormont is forced to begrudgingly accept Manderly help for the time being in order to rebuild the North and increase the size of the Mormont fleet.
House Stark
For countless millennia House Mormont lords and ladies have bled alongside House Stark, paying dearly for their undying loyalty. From the Red Wedding to the War of the Dawn, Mormonts have died for the Starks, despite that, at times, the North seemed lost to southron lords or the walking dead. With Longclaw being returned, too, nothing seems to be able to break the bond the two houses share. Even now, with the Targaryen reluctance to assist in rebuilding the ravaged North, they stand with the Starks, perhaps feeling more snubbed than even House Stark themselves.
House Targaryen
Relations between Houses Mormont and Targaryen go beyond Daenerys' conquest; to the time when their now queen was yet a fledgling girl with three baby dragons in Essos. Jorah Mormont, originally a Baratheon spy seeking a royal pardon for his crimes, had found himself in love with Daenerys, and soon swapped to her cause. Despite Jorah's faithful service to his Khaleesi, however, it was not met to be, and ended with his death in the War of the Dawn. This, including the Targaryen ignorance of the North, has left House Mormont feeling spurned, not unlike their Stark overlords.
House Tully
The Mormonts do not have any formal relations with the Tullys, and whilst they are both connected to the North through ancestral ties, there has been strife between the two houses (albeit only on the Mormont side). House Mormont had been somewhat pleased with those who orchestrated the Red Wedding being given the choice of death or taking the black, but at the same time they remain rife with anger that the Freys were allowed to keep their lands, seeing the taxes and tariffs placed upon them as a direct slap in the face to those who had lost their lives on that day.

Storyline Premise
In both the show and the books, House Mormont is in a difficult position. They're dirt poor, and their family is in shambles. Yet, despite their struggles, we see a common theme of loyalty and perseverance between the Mormonts. Dacey desperately tries to fend off the Freys, Jorah defends Daenerys to the death, and so on and so forth. With this, I'm hoping to build on their strengths, and when war inevitably comes for Westeros again, I want to see them tested. Do they fight to protect the North, to see Theon on the Iron Throne, or to dish out old hatreds? That sort of thing.

Character Information

Identity
What is your character's name?
