Though they appear to offer little protection, those who wear them will find they provide just enough defence while being completely unrestrictive. • Abilities: Decisive Blows: While she does not possess superhuman strength, the force behind Lin's attacks would make you think otherwise. Every punch, kick, or other unarmed strike feels more akin to being hit with a large warhammer. Even the toughest armor will find dents upon meeting Lin's fist. Lin, on the other hand, does not feel the force from her blows. She could spend hours beating down a wall of solid steel without getting a cut or breaking a bone. Inhuman Reaction: Whether it’s catching an arrow mid flight, deflecting an incoming bullet, or even dodging a bolt of lightning, Lin can evade almost any danger the tower has to offer; If she knows they’re coming that is. Her senses have not been heightened in anyway meaning it is still possible to catch her off guard. But once she knows an enemy is present, they’ll have a hell of a time trying to land anything on her. • Background: Life had not gone the way Lin Liao had thought it would. For as long as she could remember she had been taught that if she worked hard success would follow. Yet despite giving it her all, she was unable to maintain her grades and flunked out of college. This pushed her to entering the work force only to find her skills at holding a job were just as poor. Unable to maintain a steady pay, Lin was forced to move back in with her parents time and time again. Eventually all her friends had moved on with their own lives, and her parents seemed to accept the fact she would never leave them. Lin felt she had been cheated by the universe. She wasn’t lazy. She hadn’t slacked off or given up. She had done everything she could to succeed but for some reason or another she just couldn’t catch a break. Her frustrations turned her bitter, and she began to turn to the bottle for her escape. After yet another night of binge drinking, Lin was stumbling home when suddenly the stars above were blocked out by an incredible flying structure. She had no idea what it was, or even if it was real, but a faint glimmer at the top of it caught her attention. Could there be some sort of treasure there? She continued to ponder the possibilities as she finally reached her house. Perhaps it was her inebriated state clouding her judgment, but something told her that this was it. Collapsed on her mattress ready to fade out of consciousness she knew; Whatever prize was up there, it was her ticket out of this life.
