Which, normally he wouldn't mind - he enjoys his alone time himself - but who knows if helpless civilians are the only people their unnamed culprit is capable of taking out of the picture. And he was still not entirely sure of Ms. Selas' ability to defend herself. She couldn't be completely hopeless if she was sent here, though...right? But in any case, she had made it to their rendezvous in one piece. Samuel tried to look his most professional as he and his companions waltzed past the officers like some kind of special investigations squad - which they really were. He made a slight bow to them as they passed. "Thank you for your cooperation, officers." Once they were closer to the innards of the scene he began to look at the alley more closely. "I doubt they were worrying much about the mess...their victim would be coughing up blood regardless - for a few moments, anyway." He knelt down, examining the ground more closely. "I also doubt we will find much that the previous investigators did not - unless we use more imaginative means." he continued, standing up after some time of combing the area with his eyes, as he brushed the dirt off his white canvas gloves. "Would either of you ladies like to...work some of your magic?" he inquiried. He would do it himself just out of courtesy, but complicated manners like an investigations scene were potentially too delicate for him to release so much mana. He fretted he might disturb something that was left behind by their perpetrator. He was sure at least one of the two he was with would be able to do it themselves.
