The inside of his coat is patterned like a red and scarlet checkerboard, while his preferred wardrobe includes black and grey vests over white shirts with his favorite red tie in a neat Windsor knot. He wears grey or black slacks, occasionally patterned after a black and grey checkerboard. Finally he completes his attire with a fine silk top hat, immaculate white gloves, a gold pocket watch, and a silver-headed cane.

His hair is a steely grey, which is kept short and unruly, and his eyes match. He bears a lithe and wiry form that seems to exude elegance and grace, which is accentuated by the regal air he keeps about himself in everything he does.

Despite this, Tobias is at his core a noble soul who detests crime and injustice with a passion that is rarely matched, and will often intervene in events that transpire within his sight, even if he probably shouldn't. Sometimes however, people who have encountered him when he is engaged in battle or defending others report feelings of deep unease, even dread in his presence. He seems to exude a kind of malice that is notably absent when he interacts with others normally. A realm of magic and mystery, the Feywildes are populated by supernatural entities that make their homes in the Wildes. These entities are often powerful and dangerous, following their own laws and customs that can seem alien to the untrained observer. The Feywildes are an incredibly dangerous place for the average human, made worse by the fact that portals to the Wildes can open and close spontaneously, particularly in places far removed from human civilization or of occult significance. By using a combination of his Riftwalk and Planeshift, Tobias can open a rift into the Feywildes and travel through them to other locations in our world. Each location in the world corresponds to a different location in the Wildes, and places that are mere feet from one another in our world could be thousands of miles apart in the Wildes or vice-versa. By traveling through the Wildes, Tobias can take shortcuts to places he does not know well enough to Riftwalk to, or take shelter in when he is in danger.
[*]Transmutation: Physically converting something into something else, Tobias' weakest school
[*]Arcane Sight: Tobias can gaze into the immaterial realm, seeing things as they truly are. People and objects are revealed in their true form, regardless of cloaks or illusions. However, all things that are seen this way are permanently seared into the user's memory. 
[*]Soulgaze: Holding eye contact with Tobias results in both parties being shown a vision of each other's souls, with the resultant image permanently burned into the memory of both participants. This effect is automatic and occurs regardless of desire or action on the part of either party. This can only happen once with any given person. 
[*]Planeshift: Tobias can, after a lengthy process of preparation and colossal effort, depart from one plane of reality for another. This can be used to either jump to a world he has visited in the past or a new one at random.

[indent]Tobias came to this world as part of a quest he has pursued for his entire life. He bears a terrible curse and a responsibility that weighs heavily on his shoulders. Trained from a young age in statecraft and the arcane arts, Tobias had been groomed and prepared to fulfill a role centuries in the making. Yet when the time finally came, Tobias found himself homeless and alone, afflicted with the curse he had been chosen to endure but without the support of the home he had known his entire life. He drifted from world to world until he found this one. A world where empowered individuals, even magic, was present. Though metahumans and mages are rare and secretive, Tobias is confident that this world might finally be the one where his long exile will finally end. 

To that end, Tobias assumed the guise of a simple illusionist. A cover that would allow him to operate in the shadows and research the arcane mysteries of this world freely and without suspicion. He turned his skill with illusion magic to propel his career as one of the best stage magicians in the world, performing in venues all across the civilized world to fans from far and near. Meanwhile he turned his other talents towards true magic, working to identify any practitioners of real power that might be able to help him in his quest. 

Tobias now resides in a Victorian styled home just outside of Chicago, surrounded by books of the Arcane and other occult paraphernalia that assist him in his research. He has taken on assistants and apprentices in the past that have demonstrated an aptitude for the mystic arts, though these relationships are often short lived due to the nature of his affliction.[/indent]
