An old, well-worn temple sits in the middle of a bustling crowd, its majesty towering over the inhabitants of the city. The sun has set, and the last shaft of light flickers into the sacred prayer room of the priests, the messages from their patron gods fading into distant whispers in the minds of the worshipers. The High Elder stands with difficulty, his age inhibiting quick movement. He turns gravely to the paladin nearest him and speaks in a grave whisper. "Ariues. A great evil approaches. Ready your weapons, steel yourself. Your test of faith is nigh." The Paladin rises from his prayer and responds in jest. "Elder, you know just as well as I that my faith is strong. I will face this evil with all of the power within me. You have prepared me for this." As the Paladin makes his stand, the High Elder speaks again. "You may be brave, and strong, but this will not be easy. I would mind that you don't face this alone. There are those out there that can be of needed assistance. Be smarter than you are strong." Ariues then turns to the Elder. "Assistance? I trust your words, but who is there that can assist? Where do I find these warriors?" The Elder looks upon the Paladin thoughtfully. "They will find you. But, if the Gods serve me right... I know that you will find a Formidable team..." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Far away, in the crumbling ruins of an ancient castle, in a large stone coffin, blood red eyes open for the first time in centuries. A long forgotten evil has awoken for the first time in living history, and it hungers for the destruction and ruin of ages long past. A surge of dark power blasts from the being and storms begin to gather over the dark stone fortress. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are reading this, then you have discovered a Story that a good friend of mine, [@Shadow Dragon], has wanted to start for a while.
