Contests weren't particularly interesting to Erza at all, unfortunately. The boy always considered battling to be the epitome of Pokémon, where the trainer and their pokémon used their powerful bond, strategy and any advantage they could take in order to overcome their opponent. Contests were... showy and certainly beautiful, but it never got his interest. So, even though he overheard this or that about a contest that had apparently just ended, the boy just moved on through to a new Route: Route 015. In his head, he had to become stronger so he could take on Redcoast's Gym... Which he wasn't particularly excited about, to be frank: Gyms are tough. This one, specifically, was scary.

So. As Erza walked along the coast, he couldn't help but notice the enormous amount of ships on the sea, with many trainers that acted as guardians with their pokémon standing on them. There was a good amount of wild pokémon as well, especially Krabby - not something Erza had much interest in capturing, so the boy kept moving forward, his eyes scanning the surroundings constantly. At each new find, he'd bring his pokédex out to scan the pokémon. Only after a while, something caught his interest: A Tentacool that seemed to be standing on the beach, instead of the open sea... And a little distance ahead, a girl - around his age - and while that wasn't particularly interesting to Erza as he was far more interested in pokémon than other humans unless they were trainers... the girl was crying. And that caught his attention.

He glanced at the Tentacool again aaand, maybe of sudden empathy or sheer curiosity, the boy switched his direction and walked over to the girl, standing next to her while looking over at the sea as well - and the ships of course. After some awkward silence, he cleared his throat and glanced down at her... [i]Hopefully I can find that Tentacool again, heh.[/i]
