"[color=dodgerblue]Yup. Can confirm.[/color]" said Ecthel. "[color=dodgerblue]I was there when we tried to nab Juan. I didn't do much though, hehehe.[/color]" The boy sheepishly laughed.

"[color=red]Is that why you were missing that one day?[/color]" Mira asked with a raised eyebrow, but Ecthel picked up what she really meant.

"[color=dodgerblue]It was a secret official investigation! I couldn't tell any of you.[/color]" Ecthel defended himself.

"[color=red]Do you think this is where Varjan got the drugs?[/color]" Alicia was the next to speak.

"[color=darksalmon]Probably.[/color]" Mira replied. "[color=darksalmon]But... none of that says anything about where Varjan is or is heading to. Not that I'm saying that Varjan's use of illegal substances isn't serious. It's just that we need to find him first and--[/color]"

"[color=red]I think I know where he's heading next.[/color]" Alicia suddenly said, after much internal deliberation. "[color=red]If Varjan cheated, I doubt he wanted to get found out. I believe he expected to win and then cover his tracks. With his abilities and reputation, he would have no trouble accomplishing that. However, that's not how things played out and now... Varjan has nothing to lose.[/color]"

"[color=dodgerblue]So... where do you think he's going?[/color]" Ecthel asked.

"[color=red]If he were any other guy, he'd have just left and go somewhere far away. But Varjan and his family aren't that. If he tried to run away, his family will no doubt chase him to the ends of the world. Varjan likely knows this, and he's probably on his way back home to settle things with his family once and for all.[/color]" Alicia explained.

"[color=darksalmon]...You don't think he's really gonna do that, do you?[/color]" Mira remarked.

"[color=red]He's about to be exposed as a cheater in the Grand Academy Tournament. He doesn't have anything else to lose.[/color]" Alicia said. "[color=red]We need to find him before he does anything... drastic.[/color]"

All the talking between these three made it seem like they knew Varjan well. Or at least, knew more about him than anyone. Perhaps [u]Lumina[/u] or [u]Lisia[/u] could inquire into that.

"[color=teal]I shall relay your message. I believe your parents will be arriving in several days so you'll have time to prepare for their arrival.[/color]" The Beastkin said. "[color=teal]We thank you for your cooperation and we apologize once again for the inconvenience. Please follow me.[/color]" She led you out of the infirmary and out of Seraph Academy. 

The melancholy of the night could definitely be felt as you followed the Feathered One. The decorations and stands for the tournament festivities were still there but the people enjoyed them more serenely. The loud happiness of the day had made way for the quiet enjoyment of the night. This scene, for some reason, felt like it was precious. As if it was under threat.

"[color=teal]You will be meeting Lord Athos, the Royal Court Mage, in the Luminous Citadel.[/color]" The Beastkin said. You knew Athos, he has visited Seraph Academy several times and even taught in some classes. It appeared he was good friends with the academy's head master. "[color=teal]Please do be honest in your answers. Everything you say will be taken completely seriously.[/color]"

"[color=teal]Off the record, I believe he's just going to talk to you.[/color]" The Feathered One said more quietly. "[color=teal]Normally, this questioning should involve multiple people but only Athos will be meeting you. Still, I recommend you take this seriously.[/color]"
