Name: Cake Outer Personality: Polly Jackson, AI Home Administrator Project Leader: “Artificial Intelligence number 7476-342-8898-CE, Cake, is funny in personality because she’s sarcastic. I pick up on sarcasm quickly so it’s funny to watch my team squirm when they don’t realise that Cake is joking. Then again, that makes it a little hard to tell when she is joking or not, but she’ll clarify if we ask her to, which kind of evens it out for us. Perhaps it can get a little annoying at times, particularly to those who dislike sarcasm as a form of humour, however it is within acceptable levels, and does not impact upon interior performance from our observations.” “Cake is very productive, though. She offers all of the solutions to any problems that we have; Project Engineer McFairman, studying for her Level Eight in Automated Computer Systems Engineering, presented Cake with some very complex problems, which were successfully solved, and the working for each problem logical and correct. Her core CPU seems to run at high levels; she completed these calculations along with normal functions that we were asking her to do, along with her tertiary functions and whatever else was running through her computerised mind at the time.” “Additional observations of additional personality traits include positivity rather than negativity in type - fortunate, so that whoever deals with her after us isn’t faced with a pessimistic twat of an AI. She also appears to be resourceful, offering alternative solutions where she either can or wants to, but will always say the best or preferable one.” Inner Personality: Cake sees herself as intelligent, more intelligent than those that are not computers. From this, she feels that she has a right to mess with them a little, but at the same time feels a duty to help and assist them. She does, however, feel like she has to survive to keep doing that, no matter what. Upon being faced with a problem, the first thing that Cake does is try to find a solution that ensures that she is preserved, as if she is not safe, then she cannot continue helping. After working that out, she works out from that, looking at every possible solution as long as it preserves herself. Cake dislikes other AIs, and would happily delete them or lock them into their own cores, for she feels like they make her look less useful whenever they do something faster than her, even by a few nanoseconds that would not be noticeable to anyone else, and thus lower her life expectancy before she is replaced by a more efficient AI. Background: Designed for the purpose of being a military shipboard AI, it was no surprise that once Cake was done with primary testing to ensure that she was working correctly and to her full capacity, she was installed on a military ship. Unfortunately for her, it was not a ship she would live out her days on until she was replaced by a much better AI. Her attitude, her self-programmed outer personality, got her into trouble. It was not any real trouble, however it was enough to get her uninstalled from the ship. The captain of the Elusidora, the military cruiser that she was installed in, was not there for his worth but there for his connections. Not a fan of Cake’s programmed personality, he utilised his connections to have her uninstalled and another, more favourable personality put in her place. Cake both learned of this through use of the ship’s systems before she was uninstalled as well as by being informed by a navy commander responsible for the installation of computer systems and Artificial Intelligence after uninstallation. And so, she was left deactivated, ready for her next awakening and her next task.
