Heart Taken Home was a massive thing. Larger than any Guild Labyrinth inside the Eternal City. Lieutenant Izia Vesta watched the monstrosity lull and rock on waters near so gray as the "ship" itself. It made her stomach gurgle and already taut temples tighten. Thankfully, the clouds contested an early morning sun. They hadn't lowered any sort of ramp for the expedition assemblage. Members of Cutlass, Triumph, and a few other Guilds that the stone-faced left hand of Cutlass considered little more than lucky bottom feeders. Truly, they were her chief concern; as repeatedly conveyed to her through increasingly blunt and colorful terms. At her side, disguised in regulation Cutlass garb, were the Sapphire Swords. Six of the best "Spidercharm Jack", founder, leader and most boisterous drunkard of Cutlass, could have found. Two kept veiled eyes on her, two more on her back. The others would watch for threats, elsewhere. Lieutenant Izia Vesta kept her mind away from their work. Aside from making certain that Triumph's involvement in the expedition was nothing more than another attempt at usurping Cutlass as the premier mercenary Guild of Evahae, the Eternal City, she would thwart their efforts and finally get Spidercharm back to his old self. "First time we've gone so far, eh, Free?" A male voice, deep and lavished with the warm accent of Dunegrave. A nice place, she told herself, if one doesn't mind the dead rising because of cursed sand. "Don't just nod your head, damn lizard! Heart Taken Home is going where none other dare!" Izia heard a chuckle, throaty and dry, just under the increasing rapidity of that Dunegrave accent. "Crowfoot Traia," whom she figured to be speaking, "and Free! Beyond Evahae!" He spat over the side, a greenish lump striking the water some distance from Izia and her Sapphire Swords. That's when she first beheld the sheer ugliness of the ship's crew. "Crowfoot Traia" was not so heavy as Izia thought; but still a swarthy monster of a man decked in colorful silks. Gold in his braids, gold around his neck, the ramp fell as she considered where else such a man would place gold. In an instant, her heart was frozen. Lowering heavy chains, on either side were two Xaabu. Captain Crowfoot continued on, jabbing a meaty finger at the Lizardman on his left. "Can't get excited about nothing, eh, Free?" Izia felt herself reaching, but stopped as two sets of eyes darted to her hip. The first Xaabu, Free, returned quickly to his work. "If the Land of Blue is kind, then, perhaps..." It was nothing like Crowfoot. This thing spoke in a rasp befitting its ragged form. "Then, perhaps, Morgannan will find kindness, for us, too." "Don't forget," Captain Crowfoot grinned widely at his Xaabu companions, "Ohau! The Land of Blue is Ohau!" He turned, looking down the ramp, down at the Guild Serviles and explorers. "No one has been beyond the Land of Blue, without the help of the gods! My blessed ship, Heart Taken Home welcomes you, I welcome you!" The procession began. Izia Vesta watched Crowfoot's crew sharply. Not only the Xaabu, nearly the entire crew are mongrels of one ilk or another Though the Cutlass Lieutenant or her guards would not take note, someone at their backs gave a quiet laugh. It was that knowing laugh that told of tragedies to come. In Ohau Blue, and Morgannan Green.
Ok, that is the flavor introduction for Evahae: The Eternal City 《Book I: Morgannan》. This is a world I've been working on for a little while, and I know I won't be covering all of the important information here. So, I'll cover a little. Also a little extra.
☆ Guild: The organizations that make their home in the Eternal City. Most prominent are Cutlass and Triumph. Guilds usually have an overall regalia or 'theme'. Labyrinths are given to all Guilds in the Eternal City. They serve as dungeons within the City-Continent. ☆ Magic: It falls into one of several Affinities. Not everyone can use Magic (except for pre-made artifacts and Runecrafting These will be discussed). Affinities are Lambent, Stygian, Earthen, Searing, Aqueous, Tempestuous ☆ Xaabu & Other Beastfolk Beyond the Eternal City there are many smaller islands or even hidden countries. Beastfolk come in a variety of appearances, though the ophidian Xaabu were most recently at war with those of Evahae. ☆ Ohau: The grand ocean that splits the world into Primordial Spheres. Heading west from the Glass Shore will lead into the heart of Ohau; known as the Land of Blue, where the Aqueous Incantation resides. This is the path Heart Taken Home intends to take ☆ Morgannan: An expanse yet untouched by mortal hands. Scryers of the Vision Guild proclaim that the Land of Green has finally become open. An expedition agreed upon by the Masquerade Council has brought together an unlikely group to face this challenge. ☆ You: What do you want to be? The options are pretty wide open, here If you have an idea for a Guild, Beastfolk or whatever you want your character to be...roll with it! If you think it'll be problematic, run it by me! We'll figure it out~ ☆ Rules: This stuff is simple. Be courteous and friendly. If you can't do that, just enjoy the RP! I expect around two paragraphs a post.

Name: Kazyhn "Kaz" Blackfeather Race: Human (Galgathan) Gender: Male Age: 23 Appearance:

Occupation: Scavenger/Scribe/Herbalist Class: "Displaced Alchemist": Fleeing a plague, Kaz came into his own on the roads and down in the gutters of civilized society. Seeing his father and mother, merchants both, fall to the strange, oily boils that had eaten away at their village; he packed what he could and left. Most of his minute wealth was taken or traded. Though he was no deft blade, Kaz had a knack for working in ways others may not suspect. Skills: • Well Read: A polyglot, versed in four major languages. Common, Elven, Bestial and Dwarven all find him an eloquent and thoughtful conversationalist. He can write in these languages, as well as merchant ciphers. Kaz is always eager to learn more; be it through books or traveler's tales. • Inspired: Sometimes, it simply clicks. For Kaz, that time is unrelenting when his muse gives her gentle caress. An idea will become his obsession, and if unable to begin his work in a timely manner, he will begin drawing up plans and variants of whatever device or tool he envisions. • Steady: Mortals live too fast, Kaz finds himself often uttering. Dwarven methodologies seem to suit him better than the philosophies passed on by others. As such, he prefers to work with Dwarven materials; along with a pace that drags well behind other equally talented folk. Still, this is rarely a deterrent. Kaz sees metalwork as incredibly dangerous and for his unorthodox creations, it is likely for the best. • Alchemist: Everything has an order. As the gods intended. Kaz is much faster with mortar and pestle than he is with hammer and anvil. Given proper ingredients, he can craft potent potions or virulent concoctions. His purview remains solely within healing and curing; at least when professional work is at hand. Experimentation with this craft often involves metalworking, given his propensity for novel creations. Abilities: • Singing Spheres: Small pellets of dense metal that whistle when thrown. Aside from a small pouch containing somewhere near thirty standard spheres, Kaz carries a bag of three heavier models. Singing Spheres can be imbued by Runecraft, Magic, or even filled with alchemical reagents to create varied effects. • Framework: Based on a gift given to his crippled sister, Kaz has created a lightweight and concealed weave of highly reactive material. Where he lacks physical strength, the Blackfeather Framework serves to augment his usual abilities. Can be outfitted with a punch dagger, vial sling, retractable grapple and various other enhancements. Is Kaz's only real armor. •Tactician: No fighter, but fully aware how short a lifespan pacifism nurses, Kaz prefers to get out of trouble by using his mind and tools. Whether they be to benefit himself, or those who find themselves alongside the inventive refugee, Kaz will use everything at his disposal to either defuse a situation...or make sure his side has the upper hand. • Blackfeather Basket: A strange thing, more ragged bag than basket; said to mark a boy's passage into manhood. Kaz's keepsake is more killing implement than knapsack, however. It has a rather large amount of space within and makes stored items considerably lighter.
