That was until a group of cattle rustlers attempted to rob the family ranch. Still being young, Charles was left at the ranch while his mother and father went out to confront the thieves. It did not end well as both of his parents were killed. Charles could only sit curled in the corner and cry and he heard the screams and cries from his parents. Only wanting the cattle and horses, the men left without any further incident. A few days later the sheriff from the nearby town was following up on a report of another ranch being robbed, he came across Charles. The sheriff, taking pity on the poor boy, took him back to town and raised him as his own. When he came of age Charles became the town deputy and became a rather skilled sharpshooter. Recently, feeling the need to travel out on his own, Charles has started taking different bounties in order to save up to leave the town. While the Sheriff would rather Charles stay and take over the job of Sheriff, he understands and supports Charles' need to find his own way. Do you have a personal story arc prepared: Yes. He will eventually come across the gang that robbed his family.
