She is very thin, and tends to wear clothing that is a size or two too big, and hardly ever dresses or skirts. Furthermore, her vision without her glasses is abysmal, and she almost never takes them off. She doesn't like to wear contact lenses, but she will for special occasions. She's very self-conscious about her appearance, and even if she tends to go for casual looks, she still puts a lot of effort into them. Vanessa doesn't like it when she has to go out or see someone when she hasn't had enough time to get ready. This, however, can take anywhere from ten minutes to two hours. ‹Neighborhood› the City ‹School› Not anymore, thankfully. She graduated high school. ‹Occupation› Vanessa works as a freelance artist, and plans to do so for a good portion of her life. However, it isn't enough to pay the bills for the time being, so she also works at Donuts Galore. She's not prepared to be a 'starving artist' just yet. ‹Personality› The first impression anyone would get from Vanessa is confident, so much so that she almost seems narcissistic. She is extroverted and has no problems with meeting new people or making new friends. Despite this, she still gets embarrassed very easily. The list of things she will do just because someone dared her to is startlingly long. She can be reckless, not bothering to think of the consequences until it's too late. After all, nothing too bad has happened to her yet, so one more bad decision won't hurt her either. She's naturally curious, always wanting to try new things. Unfortunately, some of these aspects of her personality don't fly so well with a lot of people. This doesn't bother Vanessa for the most part, who thinks that if they don't like her they can just stop spending time with her. If anyone confronts her about it however, she gets very defensive. She doesn't like being especially close to people, though. She likes people, and she likes having friends, but Vanessa harbours some kind of fear of close friendships or relationships. It makes her uncomfortable to share some aspects of herself, no matter how trivial they may be.
‹Short Bio› There is nothing especially tragic about Vanessa's history, but she still doesn't like to talk about it. Vanessa wasn't born in Emerald City. In fact, she only moved there quite recently. She grew up as an only child in a different city, living with her parents, Alice and Kyle Evans. They were somewhat well off, and it was a comfortable life. They weren't awful parents, but that isn't to say that Vanessa liked them. Throughout her childhood, she was continuously pushed to do well, to do better in school, which eventually led to her hating it. They didn't look down on what was her only passion at the time, art, but they certainly didn't want her to pursue it in life. Vanessa spent a lot of time thoroughly unmotivated to do anything, yet she still did as they wanted. She would like to say she did everything she could to rebel, but she didn't. She was too afraid to do so. Vanessa, as a child and a teen, was a recluse. She never spoke, and always seemed more sad than anyone should be. Almost the opposite of how she is today. She didn't really have anything she liked to do, and she didn't really have anyone she liked either. Simply put, she was very, very alone. When she graduated, her relationship with her parents deteriorated further. They wanted her to continue onto university - become a doctor or whatever, she couldn't care less - but she just wanted to continue doing the art she loved. After all that time, she finally had the courage to speak up against them, and after a great deal of arguing, she moved out. She went around for a bit, staying with friends and doing odd jobs, until she finally moved to Emerald City. Where she could have a life separate from her parents. Where she could be a new person. She hasn't spoken to them since, and she doesn't plan on doing so anytime soon. There's still a lot of her life she needs to sort out. But even if she has to work at a donut shop for the rest of her life, she's much happier now than she ever was.
