Though of noble blood, his childhood was that of a humble fisherman’s son, and he often gives generously to the destitute, able to empathize, if at least only to a degree, with their plight. Foolhardy at his worst and intrepid at his best, Gawain holds his own ability in high esteem, having yet to fail at anything in life. The Sun never sets for him, after all, and his confidence in his fighting skill is such that he rarely thinks to show it off, leading to no small amount of bafflement when people doubt his accomplishments. No, it isn’t as if his opponents were having a bad day or were weaker than the rumors said; Gawain really is just that prodigious of a knight. He’d even get angry at others who denigrate the valor of his foes in order to justify to themselves how a child could vanquish them. There’s no need for that, after all; if his foes weren’t truly the top of their class, Gawain would not be interested in facing them. Young as he is, Gawain is inexperienced in matters of love, and has a bad habit of unintentionally flirting with people. He’s just being nice, in his mind, and doesn’t really see how that could be interpreted in any other fashion. As for his thoughts on his older self? Well…
Biography
The son of Lot and Morgan Le Fay, born out of wedlock while the former was but a mere page in the court of King Arthur, Gawain was baptised by the knight he was named after and sent in a cask down the stream. There, he was found and subsequently adopted by a fisherman and his wife, who cared for him as their own. At ten years of age, a pilgrimage was made towards Rome where the discovery of his high birth ended up having Pope Sulpicius adopt, educate, and eventually, knight him. From that point on, Gawain fought as the Knight of the Surcoat, a cavalry officer of the Roman Empire who, in but a couple years, earned great merit by rescuing the Emperor’s daughter from the Pirate-King and duelling and defeating the giant Persian Gormund, thus allowing Jerusalem to remain Roman territory. After such deeds, Gawain returned to Camelot with his proof of birth, only to be challenged further by his uncles, King Arthur and Sir Kay. Unhorsing them got their attention, and his success in the rescue of the Lady of the Castle of Maidens cemented his worth as a knight. Through these deeds, Gawain was inducted into the Round Table and properly recognized by his biological parents as their son and they all lived happily ever after…or so the story goes.
Equipment
Sword and Lance – A knight without his weapons is simply a man, and though younger Gawain’s longsword and lance hold not the fame ascribed to his older self, both are still well-made weapons, fully capable of striking down evil.
Parameters
Strength: C Endurance: B+ Agility: B Mana: C Luck: A+
Class Skills
Magic Resistance - C During his valiant rescue of the Roman Emperor’s niece from the clutches of the foul Pirate-King Milocrates, Gawain was faced with Greek Fire, the alchemical creation concocted and derived from the witch Medea’s spells, and surpassed this trial unscathed. Riding - A In his boyhood, Gawain’s skill on horseback was enough for him to unhorse both King Arthur and Sir Kay, and he had travelled all around the Christian world before even that, defending the lands of Rome and the honor of maidens. Knight of the Surcoat - B+ Proclaimed by Gwendoloena as a knight of Rome more powerful than King Arthur, and augmented by his many feats of defeating champions and kings singlehandedly, whether pirates, Persians, or pagans, Gawain’s youthful legend is one in which he rises and surmounts all challenges. Gawain’s parameters, especially Luck, rises when faced against individuals that can be considered the ‘top’ of something, whether it be martial strength or worldly influence. Destined Child - C An abandoned child cast to the waterways and adopted by a fisherman and his wife, twas Fate that enabled Gawain’s ascendance into knighthood, first being adopted by the Pope himself, and then, through knightly valor and miraculous feats, eventually being able to return home and reclaim his rightful place in Camelot. No matter how fall Gawain falls, there will always be a path for him to take that restores him to glory and righteousness.
Noble Phantasm
Rank: C+/B+ NP Type: Anti-Unit (Self) Range: 1-99 Maximum Number of Targets: 2 Description An exemplar of chivalry, a paragon of courtesy, there are countless tales of Gawain’s deliverance of the fairer sex from the clutches of the barbarians. Of note is the feat that forced the King of Knights to recognize him as one of his own: the rescue of the Lady of the Castle of Maidens from the perverted machinations of the Pagan-King. Where King Arthur and his entire army had failed, Gawain alone triumphed, bringing back both the cherished Lady and the head of the Pagan-King. From that point on, he became known the Maidens’ Knight, and continued to champion them throughout the years. His deeds have thus manifested in a Noble Phantasm that enables him to come to the rescue of any maiden in dire straits, surpassing all obstacles in a singular burst of speed. Becoming faster and faster in accordance to the amount of distance between himself and the distressed maiden, the invocation of this Noble Phantasm enables Gawain to always make it in time to save her, a miracle made by the swiftness of his steed and the gallantry of this youth. At Rank B+, Gawain is also able to carry one extra person with him while travelling to the aid of his fair lady. As a passive by-product of this Noble Phantasm, Gawain is also able to sense when ladies he’s formed bonds with are in mortal peril.

Rank: C+ NP Type: Anti-Unit (Self) Range: 1 Maximum Number of Targets: 1 Description A sturdy charger with distinctive, red ears, Gringolet is brilliantly white and steadfastly brave, a steed beloved by the young Gawain. A saddle of red, embossed with gold, sits richly on his back, and there is an almost humanely valiant glint in his eyes. His pedigree too is marvelous, the mount of fairies and kings, of brave knights and foul villains, desired by all but ultimately loyal only to Gawain. Though others may ride upon his broad back temporarily, it is their fate to be unseated in the end by the boy-knight, and only when Gawain and Gringolet are together are their strengths both truly manifested. Though Gringolet is largely unspectacular as a mount, being merely a horse of uncommon physical strength and bravery, the bond between boy and beast is such that the steed has become legendary by association, gaining the status of a Noble Phantasm in the process. Mounted, Gawain gains both a Rank Up in his Personal Skill, Knight of the Surcoat, and his Noble Phantasm, The Maiden’s Knight, while his attacks are improved as well, becoming that much more potent with the added mass of a powerful charger behind each swing and thrust. Truly, a Rider is most powerful upon their trusted steed, and being on Gringolet’s back has enabled Gawain to strike above his weight class time and time again. If separated by misfortune or intention, the invocation of Gringolet’s name will rematerialize the steed beside Gawain. A hero without a steed is but a nameless knight, after all. If ridden by anyone else, Gringolet imparts no special effects, outside of being a comfy ride.
