His most prominent feature is definitely his big dark brown eyes that his father always tells him he got from his mother. As for his sense in style, he usually wears button-up shirts and jeans coupled with a jacket and possibly a scarf depending on the weather. Other than that he also wears a sturdy pair of dark boots, that are ideal for most environments while not being an eyesore. Finally there is necklace he received to help him during a full moon. He doesn’t have any piercings or tattoos, mostly because he never had the urge to get any, but there is a long thin and slightly jagged scar on his right hand from where he accidentally got trapped in barbed-wire during one of his earlier ‘hunting’ trips with his dad. His accelerated healing took care of it for the most part, but the cut was pretty deep so it left a scar. Transformed, he is only slightly larger than an average wolf with the same big brown eyes and has a coat in various shades of brown.
| {Habits & Quirks} |

Taps rhythms out with pens/pencils/his fingers when he's deep in though. Because he doesn’t say much people often make the mistake of thinking that he just doesn’t care about what’s going on in his surroundings, they are mistaken. While people talk around him, he looks and listens, the stories he could tell from conversations he overheard are endless. Luckily, he is a nice guy who won’t go blabbing others secrets to everyone, besides, snippets from all the different situations are quite handy when he’s stuck and looking for inspiration for one of his novels. Thankfully he’s pretty creative so he doesn’t get stuck often when it comes to ideas for stories, so its not necessary for him to use that method all that much. Because of his quiet nature, it wasn’t always easy to make friends when he was younger, due to the other kids not really understanding him not being as talkative as he was, that led to him developing an increasingly blunt way of talking, mostly in response to the other kids trying to get a reaction out of him. Whenever he does manage to get close to someone, he really values them and would be loyal to them until they give him a good reason not to be. Other than that and contrary to the popular werewolf stereotype, Neil is a pretty calm and peaceful guy. If there is a way for him to handle a situation without resorting to violence, he will. His non-violent ways are especially prominent whenever his dad tried to take him out on a hunt, they always returned empty-pawed after Neil insisted on letting whatever creature they cornered go. He spent two years hitchhiking all over America, only stopping for a few months at a time when he ran out of money to pick up the odd job in a small town. Full moons were always rather tense, but he made sure to always be in a confined location where the chances of running into any unknowing civilians were minimum, coupled with a special necklace he received from his family that was charmed by a warlock to help him keep his mind during the monthly ordeal, he has had the good fortune to have not harmed anyone during the monthly ordeal. He’s living the charmed life really, meeting new people, seeing new sights and having new experiences on a near daily bases. His travels came to an abrupt end as he reached a small town in Montana. It was there that he was struck by lightning. Her name was Sarah, she was quiet and shy with big brown eyes and had dreams of settling down on a ranch, basically a complete contrast to everything he thought he wanted in life and he loved her more than anything. When she found out about him being a werewolf, he was sure that she’d be terrified and want nothing more to do with him, but oddly enough she didn’t mind and shortly after the two of them were married and beginning their life together on a small ranch with a reinforced basement and that’s where Neil comes in. After ten wonderful years of marriage Sarah got pregnant. Knowing the risks involved, especially if the baby is a werewolf as well, Adam was dead set against the idea of children, but Sarah was so happy when she found out and she wanted it so much he couldn’t take that away from her, so he convinced himself that everything would be alright. It wasn’t. Sarah didn’t survive the birth, only managing to hold on long enough to hold her new son in her arms before passing. Sarah’s death very nearly broke Adam. He was a mess and probably wouldn’t have been able to pull through if it weren’t for Neil. For the first few months he admittedly resented the boy and blamed him for his love’s death, but then Neil smiled for the first time and in that moment, he looked so much like his mother that Adam felt like he had a little bit of her back. Clinging on to that little bit of her that was left behind, he pulled himself together and focussed on Neil, on being the father to him that his beloved would have wanted him to be. Around a year down the road any resentment he felt towards his son was completely replaced with love. Neil’s childhood was pretty good as a result, growing up on the ranch, just him and his dad, there wasn’t really much he could ask for. His favourite time of the day was always right before bed, where his dad would tell him stories about his childhood, his travels and most commonly, his mom. It wasn’t until the time came for him to go to school that problems started to arise. Neil had always been a quiet and well-behaved kid, and up until that first day of school he has only seen other kids briefly when his dad took him to the park, but he never really socialised with them all that much in favour of spending time with his remaining parental figure. Naturally when he also preferred to play by himself on the playground instead of with the more rowdy kids, they didn’t understand and called him weird. He managed to make a friend eventually so their teasing went ignored for the most part until they got tired of him never responding and went off to do other things. That pattern mostly followed him as he advanced in grades, but he didn’t let it bother him, just giving increasingly more blunt responses to the other kids the older he got. A few months before his first transformation his father left him in the capable hands of one of his mother’s cousins and left town for a week, returning with a necklace similar to his own in that it too was charmed by a witch to help during the full moon. That July was the first time Neil ever experienced such excruciating pain as he transformed along with his father in their basement. He wasn’t looking forward to ever going through that again, the only comfort was that he and his father was going through it together, while keeping their minds for the most part and that nobody was going to be hurt by them. After that first transformation, though, his dad took his wolf training to another level, going so far as to insist he even learn basic self-defence in spite of Neil’s protests that he doesn’t want to use violence. Come highschool, Neil’s favourite place, other than the ranch of course, was the local bookstore. He’d spend hours there just reading and talking to the old lady that ran it while her extremely soft cat roamed around begging for attention. If it weren’t for that place he probably wouldn’t be as crazy about reading as he is today, not to mention that he probably wouldn’t have been inspired to develop his talent for writing either. That place was the first stepping stone in his path to becoming a writer, second was working towards a degree in literature and finally he published his first book at twenty-four. After graduating college, he went home for a few years and worked on the farm with his dad while working on his novels. Life was good, but much as his father had the urge to travel at his age, he had the urge to experience new things. So he travelled around America for around a year and a half before coming to a stop at his father’s old hometown Salem, Massachusetts. The town inspired him, which is why he decided to stay here for the foreseeable future, that and he was curious to see whether he’d be able to track down anyone from his father’s side of the family, leading to him purchasing a small home on the outskirts of town, with a small but secure basement. A month has passed since he moved in and he’s looking forward to seeing what the future in the town will hold for him.
