Her fingers absently tugging at her lower lip before she gave a sigh. This entire camp was odd, to say the least. With a climbing wall that spewed lava and falling rocks, a lake filled with naiads, satyrs, and dryads filling the hills between here and there to name a few of those oddities. For someone who had grown up trailing after a mother who enjoyed oddities, Athanasia had thought herself well acquainted with such. Apparently not, she was forced to admit. Considering her mother, Athanasia felt a good deal of ire that Ryssa had kept this information from her. How could she, when it was appearing to be so very important? Monsters were trying to kill her, now people were whispering. And not in a good way! Standing up, the tiny ten years old paced as she thought to herself before considering the other person within the cabin. "Did you know? Suspect?" Athanasia demanded shortly, a disapproving pout on her face. "Arthur." Now that they were alone Athanasia was shorter with her temper and less charming, but there was no hiding the confusion and slight fear in her dark eyes. She was only ten and had been chased by Cyclops, found out her father was the God of the Dead and now that she had a brother she had never known about. It would be a lot for anyone. If there was one thing Arthur could appreciate about the Hades cabin, it was the shade. The place seemed to be much cooler than he would have expected his living quarters to be, something he assumed would make the summer months much more manageable. He too was processing still that, presumably, his mother had hidden from him that he was a demigod, or if she hadn't known of her partner's godhood, had at least cheated on his father. He had to get in contact with them at some point in the future and find out what on earth was the situation there. Giving a look back at Ash, he cocked an eyebrow. "Did I know? Of course not." He said evenly. He had to keep it together, one of them had to be stable through this, and as the older one, it was thus his responsibility. "How are you taking this? It's... Shocking to say the least." He asked, turning to face her, clearly perturbed. The tiny Athanasia grimaced as she gave a pointed look towards the entrance/exit of the cabin where sunlight streamed in cheerful rays. "I don't know." Answered a small voice. It hadn't been what she meant to say but it was the honest truth and she needed to trust someone. Arthur had been a good ally back in the Crystal Rivers School for Troubled Youths. He was her second in command, and who could she possibly trust more? Kiera was having to deal with her own cabin, alone. Wincing at that thought she perched on the edge of the coffin bed and wrapped her arms about her knees. Her chin being propped up by them as she watched her half-sibling. "It's a lot, but it's what happens in the stories right? I mean, it was scary when the cyclops were trying to eat us." A flicker of anger slipped across the young girl's face. She would not soon forget Roman and his crew. If she ran into that Cyclops again, she would be ready. "But I have seen strange things before. My mom studies ancient things and likes to pick apart skeletons. She's an- anowhatisit?" Shaking her head, Ash tilted her head at Arthur. "What do you make of this?" She jerked her head to include the entire camp. "Archaeologist?" Arthur asked, strolling over to her, and sitting on the bed across from her. He frowned and rested his hands in his palms. This was hard, probably harder than anything he'd done before. "I suppose it is, isn't it?" That stumbled on an interesting point. There were countless stories of Greek heroes, plenty of whom must've been demigods. Brushing up on them might be a worthwhile thing. "Maybe we should read up on some of the old myths. It'd be fun, and be good for us..." Realizing he hadn't answered her question, he laughed a little and said. "It's absolutely insane. And cool. And scary. And the stuff of fiction and legend." He said to her. "I think I'm scared, excited, and a million other feelings I haven't processed yet." He said, keeping his eyes on her. "We just gotta keep our heads up, and we'll make it through." "Oh, la! Of course, we will. We dealt with Cyclops after all." Athanasia gave a shaker smile. Trying to appear calm and sure of herself. That is what was proper after all. "We will read up on the myths, though I think we ought to bring Andy with us". She, Andy, had seemed lonely. Arthur gave her a sad smile, and stood back up, moving next to her, and sitting by her side. He knew she wasn't feeling okay, and he was now, of course, responsible for helping her out of that. He wrapped her arms around her and said. "Exactly, we got away from a Cyclops, after being thrown into this with no preparation." He told her, squeezing for a second, before letting go. "We're gonna make it out of this, ten times more awesome than we were before." He didn't know that of course, but he was trying to reassure and help her, and himself, however, he could. Athanasia blinked as Arthur gave her a hug. Startled by the affection though grateful for it. Patting his shoulder awkwardly as she didn't feel quite right about hugging him after he had just hugged her. There was a certain amount of room for returning a hug and she had missed it. though she did scoot to her press her shoulder to his. "We already have a dagger to kill them next time and annoying skull I can spike off their heads." There was a muffled protest from within her backpack that Chatters was meant for more than being bounced about. Something about 'contenders' and 'could have been'. Ignoring the skull, she grinned weakly up at Arthur with that mischievous smile though it was a great deal shakier than usual. "There's two of us. I say we have it the best of the entire camp. Especially since I'm obviously in charge." She smirked with a 'Hades may care' tilt of her mouth and a challenging gleam to her dark eyes."I was efficient back in that school." Giving her half-brother a teasing nudge of her shoulder. Arthur gave her a light tap on the back of the head. "Nope, it's my turn to be in charge." He said, smiling back at her, "Two excellent reasons why I should be." He started, turning to face her totally. "For one, I'm older than you." He nudged her back, stifling a laugh at her. "And for another, I effectively called dibs earlier. And I bet Chiron would have me in charge over you." He stood up and jerked his head towards the door. "We could go ask him if you wanted." Ash squawked and covered her head as Arthur tapped it. Her black eyes giving a malicious glower at the older child of Hades. "One year-ish. You are older by one year-ish." She grumbled straightening her hair. "And that's three reasons! Not two! But you can be in charge- for the sake of appearances. But we discuss things before settling on anything!" She reasoned with a pointed look at Arthur. "Partners. My brother. Partners." Arthur pressed his hand to his chin and pretended to think for a moment. He chuckled and nodded. "Partners then." He stretched his hands above his head, and said, "But if it's that easy to convince you, I might as well be God-King of the cabin." He said sarcastically. For the first time today, things seemed to finally be getting better. 'God-King' went a bit far as Ash struck poking her brother in his ribs and ruthlessly tickle him. "God-King? I think not!" Arthur started laughing and pushed her away a bit. "Fine fine fine, just stoooopp." He said, smiling. "I'll be King Arthur. Plain and simple." He acquiesced. "King of Plain and Simple minded." Athanasia jabbed as she stuck her tongue out. "And foolishness. Now shall we take a look about the camp? We have hours to-" She shrugged and gestured absently. In truth, she didn't know what to make of this. It was all so much. "Let's." He agreed, trying very hard not to roll his eyes as he walked to the door, and opened it, stepping out, feeling a bit better about where this all seemed to be going. It was four hours later and Athanasia found herself sitting at the table for Cabin 13. As if their cabin didn't just scream 'potential psychotic pipsqueaks' enough. Though the pale girl was more amused by that fact than anything else. Though seeing the number of campers assembled, she was a bit concerned. Two hundred was a very large number after all. Perhaps there was some relief in having only Arthur's face and name to remember and knowing him from before coming to this camp. When the time she had come, she had followed the others to scrap some food (The best of course) into the brazier and frowned slightly at the memory. So the gods enjoyed tasty smoke? It was bizarre. Though when Andy caught her eye, Ash gave the girl a wicked grin and wave, giving a less wicked grin and more friendly smile to Kiera and a quick wave before hurrying after Arthur. Though seeing one of their erstwhile rescuer join Kiera, Ash felt some relief. At least her ally wouldn't be alone. Though, it seemed Desdemona wanted exactly that. Surrounded by the children of the Goddess of beauty, the older girl looked like she would enjoy the solitude their cabin had offered. Nibbling at the food with a methodical pace that was slowly devouring everything within her reach as well as drinking iced tea from the magic cup, Ash studied Andy and nudged her brother under the table with a foot. Her eyes flickering between Kiera and Leda and then Andy. "Do you think we could kidnap her from that lonesome table?" She noted in an undertone as she considered the situation. If he wanted to play 'In Charge' then he could very well take a partner's concern and she was curious if her new found brother would step up to toe a line here in this new environment. The feeding of smoke to the gods was certainly an odd thing for Arthur to accept, but he figured the nature of the truly divine was bound to be unlike his own. Taking a modest amount of food and drink, and looking at the group of people sitting, he nodded quietly at Ash. "Wouldn't be very hard at all, I say we go and grab her the first chance we get. Sound good?" He asked, giving her a small smile as he suggested that.
