Just experimenting here...
Name or Nickname: Nebt "Sorceress of Apep" Sex and preferred gender: Female (has changed quite a few times over the course of history, so she fancies a broad variety of things) Species:Human (allegedly) Factional Alignment: Unaligned Abilities:Nebt is very versed in diverse aspects of magic and rituals. From the divine incantations of Ancient Egypt, to modern Hermetic Magic, she can cast a wide array of conjured phenomena, and bolster her combat effectiveness with summoned creatures, raised undead and magical equipment. She is skilled in levitation with magic, and is one of her favourite spells which she can cast as easily as she can breathe. Nebt has also lived for so long she has picked up a variety of skills including modern medicine, social skills and even some notions of fencing and acrobatics (but won't help much when her spells fail). She has a fondness for snake caring, charming and taming. Strengths:Nebt is at her most powerful as a priestess and a spellcaster. Since a magician's power grows with experience and age, and she has walked the earth well beyond any human lifespan (by using dark sorceries and implanting her soul in new bodies over and over). This has had the effect of mutating her blood into a black dense soup chock full of dark magic, which can empower those who consume it and are able to withstand the effects. She is also extremely resistant to magical tampering and has a keen mind and willpower. Weaknesses: Nebt is still very much a mortal being. She can be slain and injured like any other human once you get past her defences. Living with so long and making use of such heinous magic has left her a permanent mark on her soul, the Taint of Apep, which makes those spiritually aware to perceive her as "foul" and "wrong". Nebt's sorcery is also most potent when she has reagents and preparations at hand, and quick direct attacks will burn through her resources rapidly. Age:20 (current body) /4700 years and counting Physical Description:Being of slight frame with curvy waist and hips, Nebt stands at the height of barely 5 feet, and has a tanned mediterranean complexion to her skin. Her hair is extremely long and dark, and kept straight. She posseses dark eyes, a rounded faced and a slightly aquiline nose. She also keeps a pet black mamba nesting in her clothes. Alignment:Neutral Evil Personality in a nutshell: Nebt is an extremely bitter, nihilistic woman. She is first and foremost only in it for herself, although she appreciates coherence is key in making long-term commitments and plans. Patient and cunning, she usually plays it as a long-runner rather than act immediately. She is also rather hedonistic, wanting to taste the world's pleasures before accelerating its inevitable demise. Any Important Backstory: The greatest Kings and nations of earth often have their shadows, and Nebt was cast into them. After losing most of her family during a raid from Lybian bandits during the Third Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Egypt, she sought to claw her status and lifestyle back, by practicing the then sacred arts and sorcery. Unfortunately for her, a much brighter star shone at the right side of the Pharaoh of the time. Pharaoh's Djoser and the greatest vizier of all time, Imhotep, stood in her way. Enraged by the outcome, she and Imhotep came into blows in an epic duel of magic which was never recorded in known history. Her staff and pride shattered, Nebt was consigned into oblivion, and Imhotep would eventually be deified. It was then when her grudges festered in her heart, and consorted with the most heinous power of the deities of Egypt. The Eater of Souls. Apep. It was this heinous being who gave her the atrocious magic from which she would supplant a new life with her own, evading her journey into the underworld time and time again, as she carefully plotted among the ages to grow more powerful in order to throw the world into the jaws of her patron. Redhaven is but the latest stop of a long life of wandering, sometimes following darker agenda, sometimes trying to find mementos of her past. After the Veil was torn, it was her chance to move more openly, offering fees for her services and tracking that elusive last shard of her shattered staff. What does it matter if she has to tolerate a few beasts and bloodsuckers alongside it?
