I have been reading military history for almost 45 years and watched Talvisota (The Winter War) in the early 1990s. I'll have to rewatch this movie. I own a copy on VHS. The Russians were definitely over confident and the Finns were desperately fighting for their lives. Trench warfare was very much in style during this fight. I'll take a swing. Here is a Youtube video I particularly enjoy Fire and Ice: The Winter War of Finland and Russia. In this scenario, the Russians are the Northerners of House Stark and the Finns are the Wildlings. LOL EDIT: I started work on a 20 year old private in the infantry. What title would use for Private? Jääkäri or Sotamies? I see there are two words for Light infantry, which do the Finns use: Sissi or Jäger? My guess is Sissi as there were numerous Sissi battalions that fought the Russians in 39-40. The word Jäger is German for hunter which is also used for Light Infantry.
