Hello! Hope you're all doing well. I'm looking for a group of four to twelve players (not including myself), though ideally somewhere around six would work just fine. I've had a a Digimon based/themed/inspired tabletop system that I've put about a year or more of work in, if I'm counting only the consecutive days I've actually worked on it. Anyway, a couple years ago I tested it with a group over Discord, but it fell apart for a handful of reasons that weren't really the player's fault. A mix of bad-tech and misunderstandings on my end. I was pretty disheartened after that, but now I'm ready to run the system through everything it has to give to see what breaks, or if it can hold water. Please allow me to break down some of the elements so it's easier to digest and communicate.
I'm willing to teach those willing to learn. If you're only vaguely aware of Digimon, or rusty, having not payed attention to it for a while, I'd be glad to give a refresher or crash-course in Digimon. If you're not used to Tabletop RPG's, I can help with concepts there too. I'm basically one of the only people who knows the rules anyway, so there's going to be some thought-leveling for everyone involved.

Nobody's perfect. Characters shouldn't be either.

Characters should have a way to change over time as people.

Humans' personalities, interactions, and caretaking can effect how a Digimon develops over time.

Because there are nearly two thousand Digimon, and I can't hope to stat them all, like, ever, the individual Digimon won't skew your playstyle too much. Instead, templates for signature attacks exist for easy application, and only some elements can actually restrict the Digimon stat-wise.

The Lingo we'll be using for the Digimon Stages is: Baby, In-Training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega.

In regards to Digimon species names, this is tricky. I admit, I'm biased to the dub names from about 2010 and earlier, but for the most part, I can recognize either. Not everyone knows both though.

They're not perfect, they're not experts, but there should be something about the characters that sets them apart from the masses and gives them an element the other characters don't posses. It should probably be something about their personality.

To preserve a bit of the feel of the original series(es), while still allowing for a slightly more serious than goofy tone at the same time, where stakes may matter a bit more, the RP will be set in the 90's, and as such, technology will reflect that.

While I won't stop you from making your character from [s][almost][/s] anywhere in the world, the majority of the real-world analog events will take place in Japan.

The Roleplay will take place partially inside the alternate reality known as the "Digital World", and partially in the real world of the RP, and the player characters will be given directives from a character in the RP.

This will be the player characters' first interaction with Digimon. As a consequence, no one else knows what Digimon are. This isn't one of those cheeky "they've always been there" scenarios.

Due to being inspired in large part by Digimon virtual pets, and the Digimon World game(s), you won't know 100% what Digimon form you'll get for the next stage. At current, the first option will be of one or two Rookies that you're okay with, then basically three for each stage after to indicate Good, Poor, and Excellent care. There may be certain other prerequisites for certain other Digimon, but that's where it being a template makes it easier for everyone.

I will be allowing fan made or custom Digimon. However, I will require a form to be filled out for proper integration, and it won't be a sure-fire "This is what I'm absolutely getting" statement by/from the players. New creations don't get special treatment.

Digimon are basically immortal, restarting their lives as eggs when destroyed, which then hatch back into their weakest form, with a few memories of their previous stint at life in tact, especially if under a human's care. However, the Digimon that will be the partners in this RP, and thus the supporting cast, are essentially fresh creations without any hold-over powers or experiences.
Questions? Comments? Concerns? Let me know! If you're interested, let me know, and I'll PM you the Document with the rules, as well as a fillable Character Sheet for all that statistical stuff. [s]Also sorry if anything here seems nonsequitor or rambly or incomplete. It's late at the time of posting this.[/s] EDIT: Added "First Contact" and "Results May Vary" EDIT: Added "Fanon Friendly" and "Monster's First Trip Around the Block."
