Maybe it was because they were heading towards a gamma and cosmic radiation fueled monster - or that Lance had decided it was Opposite Day and time for him to become reckless. Unlike with Hammer and all, they hadn't really had a choice at the Stark Expo. "Lance I've got a really bad feeling about this," she whispered to him. She wasn't sure what they could do against Sterns that the Avengers couldn't. And what if they just ended up getting in the way? Maybe she had decided it was opposite day too. Normally she always broke the rules. She followed after him, trying to think up a plan but nothing was coming to mind. It was probably a sign that she could be an Avenger one day - they always did their best work after the fact and here they were, in the heat of the moment, and she couldn't think of anything. The only solution really coming to mind was to just step back and let Thor and the Hulk beat Sterns to death.
