Sure, as far as festivals went, it was definitely one of the better ones, with plenty of stalls and activities to keep him busy, and just straight up nice decor all around, but for some reason it seemed a little difficult for him to enjoy himself as he wandered the grounds. Maybe it was the fact that he'd accidentally torn his jacket on a broken hinge in the tiny, cheap apartment he was currently renting, and so had no way to keep out the little, uncomfortable chill that apparently decided to hang around despite it already being midday. Maybe it was the fact that he'd also cut himself at the same time he tore said jacket, and had an annoyingly decent chance of getting tetanus. Maybe, just maybe, it could even be the fact that there was a vampire sitting not too far from where he currently stood sending out such a heavy aura of dark magic it actually left him feeling a little nauseous... But hey, who could say? As far as he could see, there was an equal chance for any of the three to be the right answer! Definitely no obvious signs that could let him know for sure, no siree! But yeah, vampire. He wasn't particularly used to seeing them sitting so blatantly out in the open, but hey! At least that was proof of this place being the kind of supernatural hotbed that Hannah could definitely maybe have come to! Probably. Anyway, he'd have to ask around about that later in the night, probably in the bar scene. Maybe he could even ask the vampire herself. Of course, the whole 'dark magic' thing made that a little more complicated. Not just because he wasn't sure he could get close to her without feeling sick yet, but also moral reasons. He was rambling. He should stop. Especially since he'd been staring at the woman during his mental planning and he was fairly certain she'd have noticed by now. Maybe even written something about him in that He took a deep breath in and out, and did his absolute best to tune out the dark magic. He only kind of succeeded, but it was better than nothing, and now he could return to his original plan for the day. Buy cool shit and try to make friends. He wasn't sure how well step two was gonna go considering his usual social skills, but step one? Definitely doable! Especially considering that he was conveniently close to a stall selling multiple bits and pieces of a definitely-not-magical nature, run by two clearly totally-not-magic-users. True, he probably wouldn't have been able to tell it was a witch and a warlock if he didn't notice the magic in the equipment at the stall, but it still made him hope he was hiding his own identity as a warlock well enough. He was pretty sure he was, but just in case, he was probably gonna need to play up the 'magically ignorant normie' bit a little more when he approached them. Thankfully, it was an act he was pretty good at by now, so it wasn't too difficult for him to all but hide the quirks that might tip him off as not being Jeremy Lindall, professional normal man. "Uh, hey!" He said with a wave as he approached the stall, trying not to sound like an awkward idiot. He was never really good at meeting new people unless Hannah introduced themselves first, an act that would leave them desperate for contact with a normal person like him within about five minutes. "Is this all like that... uh... that 'occulty' stuff? I've got a friend who keeps trying to get me into that kinda stuff, but it never really appealed to me. Still, I'm figuring buying one of these'll help me calm her down enough to not give me the silent treatment for moving away next time I see her, so yeah. What can you tell me about some of these books?"
