It became a point of consternation as they grew older and Griff made it his goal in life to earn the spotlight through different means.  His brother could throw a football.  He could create a world on a canvas.  After Ritman, Griff moved out to New York to pursue that dream and start fresh, leaving his brother and the rest of his family behind.[/color][/sup][/indent][color=#2e2c2c]-[/color][/HIDER]

[/cell][cell][h3][sup][color=000000]life at ritman high[/color][/sup][/h3][indent][color=dcdcdc]Griff was certainly an introvert in school, but those who befriended him got to see him for his entirety; a sarcastic, giggly nerd whose loyalty was iron clad.  He was never known for being too romantically involved with anyone, letting his shyness and lack of confidence hold him back from taking any social risks.  There was a particular girl who always made his stomach flutter.  He never had the urge to do anything about it, though.

His grades were always just average as he took far more interest in the world outside the school walls than the lessons being taught.  Socially, to those who couldn't call him a close friend, he was one of those guys you remember going to school with, but never quite knew their name.  Griff avoided any athletic activities and his idea of social rebellion was smoking pot one time at a friend's house and then caking layers of cologne upon himself so that his parents wouldn't find out.

He was never much of a risk taker, yet somehow he was still a thrill seeker. Griff's abilities all revolve around the ability to generate and manipulation what would commonly be referred to as smoke.  There are several applications for this ability which include, but are not limited to, typhokinetic flight,  instantaneous smoke generation, deoxygenation and, as a companion effect, his vision has taken on a new quality enabling him to sort of mimic infrared on command, allowing him to see through his own smog.

It also supports him as a means of transportation, letting his body break down into smoke particles and traveling through the air to his destination, though initially this only works for short distances. Additionally, Griff has a healthy fear of what he can do, lacking confidence in his own control.  Each time he lets any part of his body disintegrate into smog, he has only hope to comfort him in regards to being able to reassimilate.
