A widower and a veteran, Bob Stimson is known by most residents of Senaca Glen as the town grump. Generally a man who prefers his own company, any child's basketball that ends up in his yard is considered lost forever. He drives a beat-up pick-up truck has an ever-present cigar in his mouth and a shotgun usually within arms reach. His life consists of a fairly set routine usually revolving around coffee, beer and fishing. He's a small-town man through and through.

Recently Bob's had a cancer scare which may open him up to looking at the world a bit differently. But he finds out his results tomorrow...
