Elder worm sightings are not only rare they are omens apocalyptic events always follow a elder worm sighting and the last known sighting was thousands of years ago but Julia could elaborate on that since it was all recorded in the library. That brings us to now and the fact this city is emitting more magic then ever before and that it’s apparently more dangerous then we realise my hypothesis is that the magic the are admitting cracks are somehow interacting with this city and just like the creatures that have been effected this city magic is being amplified if that’s the case then it’s also getting corrupted if that’s the case then the magic this city is emitting will begin to corrupt the surrounding environment and by extension the creatures that live around here breath the magic infused air eating the magic infused plants and drinking the water will also be effected and the creatures that live around here tend to be far more power then those that live anywhere else if they succumb to the corrupting effects of the cracks they could threaten the safety of this city. Of course this is only my opinion I have no solid evidence to support this hypothesis but all signs and the information I have gathered supports this hypothesis.”
