It didn't happen overnight, but to those who still cling to long past days of bliss that are left, it feels that way. No one really knows how it happened or why, but society as everyone knew it was gone. War had ravaged the earth leaving it scarred and almost barren, nations were left crumbled and their citizens scattered due to famine and war. Thanks to the level of science humanity had reached before the nuclear fallout, the blow it had suffered had been mitigated by a small amount. Anything that had required parts from long before the war or heavy maintenance had been left to rot. Reduced to bows and swords save for a few dozen firearms, they were hard to come by as guns require upkeep that would be hard to maintain. People became wanderers, merchants selling secrets for better survival, nomads, or those choosing to live by the sword as hired guns or bandits. Even though they were forced to live in small tribes and communities, humanity did as it always does, it endured. Mother nature claimed what was originally hers as vegetation started to grow in the now abandoned cities. Habitats sprung back to life leaving animals to claim some of them and without the threat of extinction animal life had thrived. Society had taken the chance to build three sanctuary cities around the places that life had returned. Resources were not a problem as people who lived to the cities were assigned jobs from explorers, to soldiers, to doctors and the latter. To keep from overpopulation the cities only let small groups people from the outside in once every fifty years. This is our year. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi I'm Leda. I've been roleplaying for a while now and coming back from an on off hiatus. I've been a bit rusty after coming back and to regain some of the skills I had. Sadly I haven't seen anything I've been interested in, so I said "Screw it, I'll make my own." This is what I'm hoping to get off the ground. keep in mind this is only chapter one. If everything goes well, I'll discuss and bring out chapter two which will most likely focus on life in the new city and go from there. I forgot to mention that to keep the wasteland from being completely barren of anything, there will be mutated creatures, bandits, and other such dangers of the wasteland. As we start off in the barren part of the world and work our way to the area more lively areas mutants will become less frequent while there will still be bandits. They tend to stay way from the areas surrounding the city we're going to, so once we get there, we will not be facing many of them.
I don't like to impose too many of these bar the standard ones, but I do have some pet peeves to get off my chest - What I say goes. Period. -No one liners, non negotiable. I absolutely cannot stand them, the writing minimum is a paragraph at least. That's four sentences, if you want to write more then that's on you. I understand life gets in the way, I understand muse strikes when it wants to, but if you're having trouble finding it, please wait until you can write more. As long as you're not taking weeks at a time, I'm definitely fine with it - Please don't ghost, if you have to leave just let me know, so I can plan accordingly - As far as guns go , they will be rare. Occasionally you can find one, but a lot of them will mostly be relics. Some will have a few bullets in them, but that's it. No one has lost the knowledge on how to make a gun, but most of the parts for it will no longer be existent and thus it is near impossible to maintain the upkeep - I will revamp the CS, but as far as appearance goes think post apocalyptic. No one is going to be running around in designer Gucci jackets or Louis Vuitton sunglasses, at the same time you won't see a lot of people in full on knight armor either - If you see the roleplay is dragging on, feel free to take the reigns. Just run it by me first, as long as it's not too over the top, I'll approve it - No godmodding etc, blah blah blah. -I know a lot of people like their edgy bois, but if we can keep that to a bare minimum, that'd be greeeeaaaat. - No speed posting, wait for everyone to get a chance to post something. Everyone has lives outside of this, if someone is taking too long, more than a week then it's fine otherwise be patient

Name: self explanatory Age: You can be from fifteen on up, most of the elderly and children I and everyone else will use for NPCs. You can make them old, just don't make them too old. Skills: Are you good at hunting, fighting, navigation. Do you have medical knowledge, or anything else that will contribute to the group? Personality: How your character acts Appearance: what your character looks like. Clothing wish, think apocalypse/ fifteenth century middle eastern/prince of persia/Mad Max. Basically no "The world ends with you" stuff Equipment: sack of water, weapons, etc. NO STARTING WITH GUNS! Bio: With this one, what I want is just a brief description on what you were doing before taking this journey. Did you just join up with the caravan in hopes of a better life, Have you always been a nomad, were you getting sick of living only for yourself and wanted to find a more peaceful setting? You can always put TBR and write it in later if you want, I know how long it takes to make one of these and I don't want it weighing anyone down.

So the world...the world is pretty fubar, at least half of it anyway. Actually fubar would be an understatement. It's just starting to regain its former luster, you know mother nature always wins. Cities once teeming with intelligent life are now overgrown with vegetation and have been taken over by animals and with the ever looming threat of extinction almost gone, animals have been able to reproduce their numbers. Fish, although not fully repopulated have been thriving in the new lakes and rivers now that the radiation is gone. A lot of people who live in the new cities make a living by spelunking through old buildings for artifacts that may be useful. The rain won't melt your skin, hell it most likely won't make you sick, but a lot of people are still skeptical about it and caution others to stay inside. Half the world is still barren, desert barren. Most of the lakes on this half has either dried up due to massive drought, or is just straight up not safe to be around let alone drink from. Occasionally an oasis or two can be found, but not without its dangers. mutated creatures gather around some of these watering holes and a lot of them are hostile, not to mention thieves, murderers and like. Cities in this part of the world are overrun with sand, what's left of the destroyed buildings lay in ruin. Temperatures can be quite quite taxing on a person with the blistering heat and rainstorms are not something you want to get caught in for extended amounts of time...just take my word for it. Any lakes that can be found...eeeeeeeeeeeeeh stay away just to be on the safe side.
