I'm sure that most, if not all, understand remaking GoT is more or less out of the question. Even the petition author made an update about how it was a spur of a moment thought because of how terrible the final season was (which obviously disappointed a lot of people). To be honest, though, it doesn't really matter to me if GoT ends up with a remake or not. However, it still bothers me that everything was rushed for Star Wars. Both GRRM and HBO wanted more seasons, but D&D refused several seasons worth of extra content because they wanted to hastily wrap things up in S8. Plus you have to add in their ability to write without source material to adapt in, seeing as the early seasons were the prime of GoT while this season (and some of the previous seasons) were boring/terrible/stupid. As for the actors, I love their work, but I do believe they're misreading the petition. No one is denying their hard work and effort (the same with the crew) as they consistently say in interviews. The anger is focused on the god awful writing that S8 had.
