Or... something like that."

NAME
Datari, Shun
GENDER
Male
AGE
15 - December 12
APPEARANCE
Height: 5'6"

Weight: 135 lbs.

Fashion Sense: Shun has two aesthetics; athletic wear, and clothes that look like he wandered into the women's department accidentally and didn't realize it until he finished shopping. Sometimes both at the same time. He's fond of bright colors and soft pastels, and often likes his clothes tight and form-fitting. Shun generally values comfort over style, and rarely dresses up past a lazy hoodie and pants combo unless he's forced to.

Distinguishing Features: At first glance, Shun lacks the larger-than-life physical presence typical of big name heroes. While he has a fairly lean build that believably matches a runner or gymnast, his soft face and girlishly wide hips coupled with his weird fashion sense make him appear a bit more diminutive than he actually is. Small areas of Shun's body seem to dissociate into pixel-like bits at random, seemingly without physical consequence; as if he were a video game character experiencing a weird graphical glitch. The frequency of this phenomenon seems to increase when Shun is nervous or unsettled, or when he's recently used his quirk. He's also highly prone to repetitive, idle motions when sitting or just not actively moving, ranging from innocent tics like tapping of fingers to outright bouncing up and down on his feet - the boy cannot sit still.
PERSONALITY
Shun is nothing if not energetic, to the point of coming off as annoying at times. This isn't helped by the fact that he has almost no concept of personal space. He's usually cheery and positive, and any sadness or anger he may be feeling commonly manifests in the form of a brief period of poutiness before disappearing altogether and Shun snaps back to his usual self. Academically, he's nothing special; he actually comes off as pretty dumb in conversation. He's fairly dense in many regards, and often seems to lack the ability to view things from others' perspectives. Despite his apparent airheadedness, though, he has a shrewd mind for tactics on the battlefield, and thus commits himself to being useful as part of a team rather than as a solo glory-hound since his quirk isn't necessarily powerful alone. Inversely, he sees seeking personal glory to the point of being detrimental to the rest of one's team as a grievous sin.
HISTORY
A bit atypically for aspirant heroes in a backwater reject school, Shun's home life was always pretty ordinary. He grew up in a modest home just outside of town, with typically caring parents and an older brother that was distant enough age-wise that he and Shun were never really close. Shun got into heroism at a young age, as many kids do, watching highlights on the news and internet. This proved to be a nightmare for his parents when his quirk manifested, as he would try to emulate the complex maneuvers of heroes with movement quirks - usually inside and around fragile furniture. Eventually, he got (forced) into Muay Thai as a way to burn off energy, but he took it in stride, seeing martial arts as both a fun hobby and a way to hone himself for a future in heroism. Despite this fascination with heroism, Shun seems to view the profession as more of a fun hobby than a serious social responsibility. Heroes do cool stuff, Shun wants to do cool stuff, therefore Shun should be a hero. Bad people should be stopped, he has the capacity to stop them, he should be a hero. Flawless logic.
QUIRK
Short Quirk explanation: Pixelation - Shun is capable of short-ranged teleportation (at most a few meters) by discorporating himself and other small objects he is in contact with into small cuboid bits. He requires time to restabilize his body after each "jump", and repeated use of his quirk in a short period of time leads to an increasingly "glitchy" appearance.
OTHERS
Likes:

Kickboxing
Watching Heroes Do Cool Stunts
Video Games
Friendliness
Teamwork
80's J-Pop
[s]Cats[/s]
[s]Mother Figures[/s]

Dislikes:

Uncooperative People
Excessive Negativity or Cynicism
Dragging Others Down
Liars
Sitting Still

Fears:

Being responsible for others' failure
Spiders, who isn't?

Amane Kyota

"No, you can't touch them."

NAME
Amane, Kyota
GENDER
Male
AGE
15 - March 26
APPEARANCE
Height: 5'5"

Weight: 115 lbs.

Distinguishing Features: Mutant aspects aside, Kyota looks fairly unremarkable; brown hair, narrow shoulders, unimposing stature, unnervingly black sclera; the only traits that really make him stand out from any other out-of-shape nerd are the pair of impish horns that poke out from his forehead and oversized canines in his mouth.
PERSONALITY
[s]Intelligent, nihilistic, and with a wicked sense of humor.[/s] Kyota plays the part of the detached and emotionally-unavailable anime boy with an attitude, mostly because he's under the impression it will make him look like a bad boy. He can be jovial at times when his act breaks, though he's fairly tempermental when crossed. Strongly dislikes microwaves. Would commit a hate crime on someone with a microwave quirk.
QUIRK
Short Quirk explanation: Dosimetric Horns - Kyota possesses a pair of highly-sensitive horns that allow him to detect electromagnetic radiation in his vicinity. While he can differentiate between the frequencies of waves he collects, he can't actually make use of them in the way a radio or computer would. Good for finding the best phone reception in the room or determining whether or not the WiFi is working, not much else.
