This allows for a more chaotic, unruly May, and a different setup in general. In her reality, Ben Reilly didn’t die before she was born and other key characters just had different experiences in their twenty years following the “Age of Heroes”. This allows me to incorporate newer ideas and write May in a slightly different headspace. The powers she inherited from Peter are generally the same, though I have decided to tweak her detective skills and her intellect for fluff reasons. She’s still not a super-genius like her father was, but smart enough on the mechanical end to understand how the webshooters and their fluid fundamentally work.
| Brief World Background |
For twelve years, Peter Benjamin Parker served as one of the primary protectors of New York City. From his awkward teen years in Queens to his hectic life as a newspaper photographer, he has always done the very best he could to protect New York from anybody who was willing to put it in danger. This led him to fight dangerous foes like the Green Goblin over the course of twelve years thus defining himself as one of the longest running vigilantes in the five burroughs. Unlike in other realities, Peter would continue to survive by the skin of his teeth. That is, until he disappeared without a trace. His then girlfriend, Mary-Jane Watson, was two weeks pregnant. Eighteen years later, the world isn’t much different. New heroes and villains have risen as the icons of the “Age of Heroes” still continue to do their duty. The presence of a hero making homage to Spider-Man has attracted interest from various media outlets for the last three years, though the story of this Spider-Woman has remained relatively obscure beyond her fights with a new Green Goblin. But what new threats lie on the horizon? A new hero tends to have a domino effect on the status quo. Though, what exactly happens when that domino effect isn't around to keep things in check?
