[b]Purpose:[/b] Asymmetric Warfare, Infiltration, Demolition, Sabotage, Assassination, Kidnapping, and Intelligence-gathering

[b]Basic Info:[/b] Shrouded in secrecy and known only to the most high ranking personnel in the Imperial Intelligence, the 97th Special Duties Construction Training Battalion is a special task force within Imperial Intelligence tasked with conducting a variety of covert operations deep behind enemy lines. In a departure from standard operating procedure in the burgeoning Sith Empire, the 975th recruits heavily from non-human species and normally undesirable elements of intergalactic society. An elite and fanatically loyal unit, members of the 975th benefit from a unique training regimen developed by Imperial Intelligence. In order to facilitate independent operation behind enemy lines and to allow members of the unit to adopt a number of cover identities throughout the course of a mission as required, members of the 975th are trained in a remarkably broad range of conventional and unconventional skills that range from sabotage to star ship piloting. All personnel within the 975th are also cross-trained in the use of Sith Empire and Galactic Republic equipment and vehicles. With the expectation that they should be able to operate as both soldiers and intelligence agents, are afforded an unparalleled degree of latitude in the performance of their duties. Finally to ensure that the 975th can operate clandestinely, each member of the 975th is required to be fluent in several languages as well as being familiar with way of life in operational areas located within Repbulic space where they are deployed.

To anyone outside of the heart of Imperial Intelligence, the 975th is simply a training battalion for Imperial Military combat engineers.
