Skylar was still in a bit of shock after the Entei incident, but he felt resurged to continue on his journey. He knew for sure that if he was going to find the legendary Ho-oh, he'd definitely have to keep working on his team and himself before he could even come close to seeing the massive phoenix. Until then, he was left with his team again, and they were back on their own. Definitely not for long, though, as Skylar did want to go do some more training before he eventually tackled the Highhill Gym. It wasn't that he didn't have any faith in his team, heck he had a lot of confidence in his team's strengths, but rather he wanted everyone to be up to par in order to tackle the gym head on. Plus, dusk was setting in, and if there were any rare birds to be found at Highhill at night, now would definitely be a good time to try and find them. "Wingull?" Seabreeze asked, looking down at Skylar from the top of his head. "We're gonna go back over by the lake, I think. Mac should probably learn how to hold his own, but since he's such a little fellow I think maybe some Magikarp would be some good starter training." Skylar explained. Skylar himself was currently sitting on the back of Paradise, who nodded before wandering slowly towards the lake. Also on Paradise's back was Celebrity (taking a well-earned nap, no doubt), and JoJo, who was still trying to gain his bearings while holding onto Paradise's neck for stability. In Skylar's arms sat Mac, who was curiously pecking at Skylar's tanktop neck. Skylar looked down at the Torchic and giggled, before gently poking the Torchic's beak away. "Hey buddy, I've only got so many of these. Let's not stretch the neck anymore than it needs to be, eh?" "Chic?" Mac tilted his head, confused at Skylar's initial request. Skylar pointed to his collar and shook his head, which seemed to have Mac understand with a nod. Cute little bird. Definitely not the brightest, but he'd fit in just fine after a little bit of training. At last, Skylar and Co. made it to the lake once again. Skylar smiled at the sight of the setting sun shining onto the lake while he pulled out his fishing rod, unfolding it and looking back at the lake. He was here to fish up Magikarp for Mac to train on safely, and he was here to see if there were any dragons willing to join the party (if he somehow managed...) With another banana from Paradise, Seabreeze flapping over the orange water, and with JoJo recovering from Confusion, Skylar cast his rod back out into the lake and began to fish. (Details on training in the action summary~!)
Leaving the Ranch and heading back to the lake. Training at the lake! - We're casting a bunch of times again, each one with the same parameters of the first. This time, though, what gets pulled doesn't matter as much. - We're training Mac on Magikarp, since they only know Splash. If it turns out they can actually really hurt Mac, then we'll do the trusted 'Switch-in-then-switch-to-something-else' maneuver to get Mac some experience. - If there's a Carvanha, then we'll have someone else fight that instead so we don't hurt Mac. - If there's a golden Magikarp that's pulled (somehow), then STOP THE PRESSES THAT'S GOING IN A BALL! - If there's a dragon, then STOP THE PRESSES THAT'S GOING IN A BALL (but I'll probably want to make a new post detailing the catching). - After Mac hits a level that allows him to contend with the Shelmet and Karrablast around the grassy areas, we'll start training on them. - As always, new birds and rare Pokemon are definitely to note.
