On one hand, he could see how valuable his skills would be on the stealth team, allowing them an easy out if necessary in a pinch; this ofcourse would be a moot point if Klara, or Runa hadn’t decided to disappear into the darkness without so much as a word. On the other hand, Max fully understood the idea of a small covert group of no more than four players for a stealth mission. It reminded him of the group the Underground took to investigate Shaw, small group with at least one person leading and someone who can help stealth their way through the issues. He didn’t know the others well enough though, nor what exactly they were capable of. They were Red Guard so hopefully that meant some form of stealth ops, they should also be trained killers or disablers. He closed his eyes and cleared his mind of the voices playing tug of war on who’s side he could join, then he finally spoke up. ”I’m going with the assualt team. My powers can be spotty and chaotic at times, and i would hate to compromise the mission to save others just because I can’t portal exactly where we need to or something. I will attempt to do some magical reconnaissance on the way to the palace and will alert you if i find anything. If by the time we get there you haven’t heard from me, then that means i was unable to discern any information on the dungeons past what I already told Tinley.” With the Max got into the assault team vehicle and proceeded to do what he could to help. Unfortunately it seemed no one carried a compact mirror on them, which was rule number one of being a caster. Always have a mirror on hand. He could beat himself up over it later. Max attempted to create the item but the beings that willed did not feel the need to allow him to do so. So he sat quietly in the car with his eyes closed, imagining a pool of still water in his mind as he attempted to scry on the dungeons, only to have that spell fail as well, not that he could say he was surprised. The team had finally made their way to the positions and Max awaited a cue, Hawkeye masterfully shouted the line, (Though he was sure Tony Stark could do it better) and then watched as The Hulk transformed and shook the earth, now that was a cue. He used the temporary distraction as a safeguard to propel himself up in the air, Swirls of concentrated cosmic energy swirled within each hand as he flew up ten feet before landing about fifteen feet away from his target of Wanda Maximoff. The distance was too great to attempt more without harming bystanders so he ran for a jump start and tried again, this time falling flat on his face only two feet away. ”Damn it” Max could feel himself going nowhere fast, and was sure to have embarrassed himself in front of some of earths best heroes. He got up and wiped the dirt from his face, looking now towards Flynn who seemed to be hotter than ever. Unfortunately for Klara, that heat could very well mean death to her, and although they had their differences, it wouldn’t sit right with him if he just let her die. Max swirled his hands above his head, conjuring pools of water that began to sway and swirl above Flynn, turning into a massive ball of water before it just fell down attempting to douse the flames on him. Flynn aptly dodged out of the way, leaving Klara soaked to the bone, and his fires still burning. ”Oh come on. Just this once could my powers work, just once.” His attention was now split between Wanda and Flynn, she would surely be enraged by the arrow that went flying towards her father, and Flynn would surely take offense to the orb of water that was just summoned above him.
