Backstory: Marea was the fourth daughter to one of the ruling merfolk kingdoms. She quickly took to her studies and her tutors were impressed by her talent. However, the merfolk were beginning to increase trade with land folk in the aftermath of the wars. Due to the political marriages of her other siblings, Marea was chosen to receive training in economics and diplomacy. She enjoyed the mental challenge but disliked the interpersonal interactions this caused her. She got into a fight about her desires and they reached a goal. She would attend the academy to learn magic as she desired, but would also make connections for her family. Thus she headed for the surface world.
