Much of Tommy is an assertion of androgyny, from her undercut to her short nails. She enjoys wearing men's clothing, successfully proving that she can not only pull off skirts and dresses, but suits and joggers as well. As far as piercings go, she has stretched her earlobes to 4 millimeters and has both a nose stud and septum piercing. [color=5948BE][b]Personality:[/b][/color] Ever since the day she was born, Tameka Patrick has been an adventurous free-spirit, something that she probably inherited from her birth parents. There is a certain confidence in the way that Tommy walks and talks; she has a way of commanding attention from the moment she steps foot into a room and making strong first impressions. She has never been one to shy away from any platform or spotlight, and will always speak her mind without hesitation or timidity. This, of course, has gotten her into a lot of trouble with her foster parents in the past. Thanks to her parents' superb parenting and her overall upbringing, however, Tommy has grown to be a very self-reliant and independent young woman. She knows how to handle things on her own, and rarely calls on the help of her family members or peers. 

There are a few downsides to Tommy's persona, the main one being her impulsiveness and carelessness. While being adventurous, Tommy also has a history of making decisions without thinking them completely through, which probably should result in her regretting them later on. She also tends to be very stubborn and short-tempered; she gets angry quickly if things don't turn out the way she hopes.

For years, the woman and her husband Joseph had desperately tried to conceive a child of their own, so this news was nothing short of devastating. Two years later, however, after realizing just how much they longed to be parents, the married couple decided to foster. Tameka Nicole Patrick was born on a warm, Spring morning, the child of a nineteen year old Dominican immigrant who, due to the pressure placed upon her by Tommy's prejudiced birth father, put both Tameka and her twin sister into the system. They were finally given to the Patrick family to raise as their own at the ages of six. 

Growing up, life wasn't always easy for Tommy, but she tried her hardest to make it work. Thanks to her natural charisma and charm, she made friends quickly and easily. Both of her foster parents had decent jobs that allowed them to live a relatively comfortable lifestyle in Brooklyn, New York. It wasn't until Tommy was in middle school that she finally began to experience all of the negatives that came with being one of the Fragmented. While she had a good crop of friends that always had her back, her sister included, Tommy also had a few "enemies" who treated her poorly simply because of the mark around her wrist. Whether it was because they hated her or envied her, Tommy wasn't completely sure. She did know, however, that she'd have to wear a watch or bracelet over her mark throughout the remainder of her secondary schooling.

After finishing school, both Tommy and her sister Tasha went off to a University in Manhattan. Four years later, Tommy would graduate with a degree in Music Production, and her sister with one in Business Administration. During her time in college, Tommy managed to snag herself a steady girlfriend, a paid internship that would help her secure her dream job in the future, and an apartment that she shared with her sister and three other girls they met after advertising for roommates. Although she'd had yet to run into her "other half" Tommy had to admit that she wasn't really worried about finding said mystery person. After all, she did seem to have everything that she could ever ask for: lovely foster parents, a close-knit band of sisters, and the best girlfriend that she could possibly have.

This mentality explained why she was hesitant to accept the invitation that she'd received in the mail. What if she actually were to meet her other half, and this person turned out to be everything she never knew she needed? What if this person turned out to be someone who would try to replace the people she already had in her life, her girlfriend especially? Tommy was scared out of her mind. But it was her sister who eventually convinced her that this was simply an adventure that she could not pass up.
