However, as Clifford grew up, he realized that the priestly life was not for him. Enjoying his time as a volunteer teacher in a distant community, the lad wanted a path where he could devote his interest to religious life as well as a career of teaching. The answer came from the Fratres Scholarum Christianarum or the FSC Brothers. He quickly applied to become an aspirant in the organization, and after taking his vows as an Aspirant (though not a fully-fledged member), Clifford undertook his studies seriously. After obtaining his master's degree in Education as well as a Doctorate in Arts with a major in Literature, he was ready to be deployed by the FSC to other countries in order to teach in their partner universities. For the most part, Clifford does enjoy his life as both a teacher and a religious brother. Largely social and friendly, he also enjoys the company of others who he would often treat to food as he is quite financially stable (since he not only gets his salary from the university but also a stipend from the FSC Brothers). However, if there's something that Clifford tries to follow is the act of not getting too attached to anyone. He does his best not to establish deep-rooted friendships, especially, romantic attachments since he was assigned to Sol City for a mere six-month period before he might be reassigned to another place. Not to mention that he did take the religious vows of celibacy. As such, while Clifford is extremely friendly and welcoming, once he feels that a deeper relationship had begun to form, a noticeable backing away can be felt from him. Clifford had a particular fondness for literature, especially, mythology. He tends to babble on and on and on, droning about myths and legends from different parts of the world for hours if no one stops him. This love for the arts does help him out as a teacher/lecturer, allowing him to inject his passion into his profession. Even though he is of a religious order, Clifford doesn't really proselytize to others. He rarely talks about his own religion and faith, preferring to keep it personal with no intention to dictate how others should live. Does this personality make him problematic for the brothers? Definitely. He had arrived recently, just around two weeks, in Sol City as a lecturer in the university where he will be assessed from time to time by the Brothers' president to determine whether he is set for higher positions. Deep inside, Clifford longs to become the president of their organization, but he would need to put his best foot forward to make it happen.
