Hello there all you lovely [s]specimen[/s] people!
I won't lie, Theodorable's own interest check is what amde me want to do this post. What is better than asking players what they want? Nothing I say, nothing! My heart has been aching for months now to return here with a bang, but I was always torn on what to play and what ideas to bring to the table. But I might as well give you all I got and see where the winds of fate will take us! I have many, many ideas, so it may take a while to read, but peruse my collection please:

FROM DAWN TILL DUSK: Perhaps the most ambitious idea on the list, I want to place it here for all of your eyes to feast upon. The basic concept of this RP is very simple but the creativity it allows for has no limits. Players will create a race that is at the dawn of it's intelligence, with a handful of it's species as they find themselves in an odd world that they now have the ability to comprehend. You will have to decide what decisions they make to survive, build their community and help them establish a life in the world. With time, those handful of people wil turn into an empire and you will undoubtedly meet the other races and cultures as well. War or trade, that is all up to you, but with each step you will have to remember that these people are all affected by your decisions. Maybe this rings some similar tunes to what my old GM wrote in his own post, but this is a lot less of a god simulator and more of a Civilization type game. I want only the most basic number crunching as possible (unless we want it) and simply rely on turns or similar methods to advance time and watch you create a culture, a civilization. This is an RP mainly focused on dealing with how cultures are created and what adversaries they have to face to survive to get to where they are. Just like our ancestors did. I am not forbidding either magic or special races from this, as I truly want this to be an immersive world building experience, an empty palett that you can fill however you want, all the while feeling a personal connection to it.

REAWAKENING: You will all create a band of races/cultures similar to what you have seen in the last post, but with a different premise this time. Your people find themselves transported to a vast island, filled with plants and animals that they've never seen before. They have no memories of how they got there, but they retain all of their knowledge. Equipped with nothing else but what they have on themselves, they will have to find means to survive on this dangerous island that is seemingly out to get them. This RP is heavily influenced by ARK and the Gregor Man triology (which sadly is not in eglish so I can't show them to you). A similar experience of building up a living space, but this time with the premise that you retain all of your knowledge from before you came to the island. THe idea was that each player will control an individual group who strives to survive, but I am not opposed to all players controlling a smaller group of the large whole, all with different ideas on how to solve their problems.

BATTLE FOR THE MAW: This idea will no wonder ring a bell to those of you who were here for TJByrum's "Battle of the Maw" RP. I don't think I need to explain too much, the idea alone is excellent and I wish to try it again, this time hopefully coming to a conclusion. All of you military and history buffs out there are no wonder familair with some of the greatest battles of history. Well, this will be one hell of a "Tale of Arslan" for you, as the entire RP is set up so that you play a general and command your own troops in a coalition of nations that are trying to defend their home turf from a seemingly overwhelming foe. I have not yet made names or places, but an expansionist Empire is on a military campaign and has already conquered vast territories on the other side of the world. You thought yourself to be safe behind the moutnain range dividing their territory, but now their armies have braved the aptly named Maw, a dozen mile long stretch of relatively flat land that cuts through the mountaing range. Now each of the palyer's nations will quickly send a smaller contingent of armed forces to try and halt the advance of the enemy army while they began raising their main armies at home. Think of this as your battle of Thermopylae, except with magic and all the cool things you have no shame of putting into your sheets. The RP will play by turns, where everyone will command their troops, and given their various parameters and tactics will clash with the enemy in a grand defensive battle. During each night you will lick your wounds and prepare to defend your homes for another day. If you can hold for long enough you might get reinforcements, but don't count on it. And if you'd rather live to fight another day, you may choose to run away from the battle and leaving your allies behind reach the safety of home. The game is expected to last a couple of days at best, but everything is up to your skills! Kudos for impressive ideas, last time I sat down and took the time to model some of the props from our battled of epic proportions. So you know, there's that.

AGE OF DIESEL What better to close off a list than your "traditional" ww1/ww2 pseudo-dieselpunk nation RP? I'm not gonna say much about this, everybody probably knows what this means. Tanks, airships, planes and giant battelships slugging it out over charred battlefields and leveled towns while the politicans make big promising speeches and play the diplomatic game with others, all while you seek allies and new technologies to help you out. The idea might be simple, but there's nothing quite as amazing as designing your own little empire and then sending it to war. Depending on players, this may have more or less number crunching.
Well, that's it all. Maybe you've seen the distinct lack of space NRPs. As much as I adore them, I didn't have an idea this time around that I really came to love. All of the ideas here have some merit in my opinion, and are at various stages of being worked out. I know it's not exactly an option A or B here, but do be sure to vote on your favorite RP. I'm not against running multiples if more than one idea gets a lot of attention, but I'm hoping we can all settle on one we want to play! Vote down below with your two favorite ideas! Bring your friends and family too, let's have a nice time together playing some NRP ^^
