Why? If he's a Padawan it's because he hasn't yet reached the rank of Jedi Knight. It's not based on Force skill alone. To echo myself from Discord.

I'd say either re-work the Interview to include the story of going from Empire to Order, and all that entails, or simply start making plans to RP it out and write an interview that showcases the mind of an Apprentice that's about to bolt from the Empire.
