Name: Feng Tian Age: 17

Personality: Though diligent and earnest, Tian is a bit of a scatterbrain, and has a tendency to let himself get distracted by passing fascinations or daydreams. The sort of young man who often watches the world around him like one would observe a painting, admiring its beauty without actually feeling that one is a part of it. This distant nature is compounded by the fact that as a young magus he rarely made contact with anyone outside of his school. Though an excellent mage, he's blunt and awkward in conversation and has a really weird fashion sense, being unfamiliar with the ways of the modern world. At heart, however, he's honest, straightforward, and level-headed, the kind of person who seeks to solve problems by confronting them openly and directly. He's also unusually empathetic for a magus, and will not hesitate to show kindness or mercy to even a sworn enemy. This sort of morality makes him come across as naive and gullible to some, which is not entirely untrue. However, he can be unnervingly perceptive in certain situations, and rarely loses his cool even when under the most intense pressures. Abilities: Being an Eastern-style magus, Tian is a practitioner of Taiji, a distinct thaumaturgical school centered around opposing concepts such as Yin and Yang. This philosophy attempts to capture the essence of everything on a conceptual level: things that are active are defined as Yang (white), while the opposite are defined as Yin (black). Tian applies these concepts to his elemental affinity of Wind: still air is akin to Yin, and flowing air is akin to Yang. The balance between these two and their respective energies is at the core of his magecraft, with each form containing a tiny dot of the other. While this alone would not be enough to distinguish him among Eastern magi, Tian's true strength lies in his ideal manner of breathing and walking, a natural and controlled way of breathing and steps that produce no wasted movement. In addition to being an adept in martial arts, his entire body acts as a single natural Circuit, such that his breathing, movement, body, and very existence can cause supernatural phenomena, allowing him to invoke his magic without relying on incantations. This skill is said to be capable of reproducing even greater mysteries than conventional Magecraft, but because of Tian's young age he is still far from reaching such heights. History: Feng Tian was born into a school of Eastern magi, a coalition of families who operated together in a similar manner to the magi of the Clock Tower, albeit with much less overall power and influence. Recognized as a prodigy at a very young age, he was elevated above his peers, which in turn stoked jealousy and led to him growing up isolated from those around his age. There was a great deal of politics and infighting concerning his fate, none of which Tian understood particularly well; so rather than attempt to meddle with the workings of his school he simply ignored those scheming over his future and devoted himself to training under his mentor Xia Ju, a magus from the previous generation who had mastered the techniques of breathing and walking. Together they mostly shut themselves off from their school and the world at large, appearing only when called upon and spending most of their time focused on learning their art, and how to connect their inner worlds to the outer world. When the Association managed to create a lesser Grail, Tian's school jumped at the chance to be the first ones to reach the Root, and used their connections with the Association to secure themselves one of the Master positions in the upcoming Grail War. Aware of the opportunity as well as the risks, they elected not to risk losing Xia Ju and to instead send the young Feng Tian, who was powerful enough to stand a chance of winning, whilst still being sufficiently disposable to be sacrificed if he were to lose. Without really paying much attention to the significance of the ritual or why they wanted him to participate, Tian obeyed, traveling overseas for the first time of his life to fight a war he'd never even heard of until recently... Other: He likes birds, fish, flowers, tarts, and painting. He can speak Japanese and English reasonably well, along with his native language.

Name: Ibaraki Dōji Class: Berserker

Personality: In her childhood, Ibaraki-douji was strictly disciplined by her mother, who was descended from a noble bloodline and taught her to take pride in being a fearsome Oni. As such, Ibaraki-douji is very self-aware of her responsibility as the child of her noble mother: to lead and unify the last of the Oni, even when they were on the verge of extinction after their near-eradication by humans. In order to do this, Ibaraki established a standard set of rules, and any of the Onis that broke said rules would be spanked with her iron staff. (Of course, Shuten wass the sole exception.) She is a demon, so from a human's point of view, she is unmistakably a wicked beast. At her core, however, she is a belle who respects order and ponders over the fate of her brethren. While Ibaraki-douji's appearance exudes innocence, her very state of being is that of an Oni: hurting humans, devouring humans, loving blood. However, she was never one predisposed to selfishly enjoying slaughter and massacre. Her nature is not that of an Oni that brings disorder to the world; in the end, she devours humans as an Oni, as a living being. One can say that she is close to being a wild animal. For example, even if she appears to be fascinated with sweets, her nature is nothing like that of a young human girl. Depending on the circumstances, she just might devour even the human who enticed her with sweets. Never ever take a lion for a cat. Never. Ever. Yet... If one actually succeeds on feeding her, she just might display a lovely smile. However, because of her characteristics as an oni-kind, its power is exceptionally controllable. Her reasoning remains intact, and she can calm down and have a normal conversation. Personal Skills: - Demonic Nature of Oni A: a Skill to represent the demonic nature and power of an Oni. Only Oni Kinds and mixed-race beings with Oni blood are able to acquire this Skill. It is a mixed Skill of the Mana Burst Skill, Charisma Skill, Monstrous Strength Skill, Natural Monster Skill, etc. In the case of Ibaraki-douji, her Mana Burst becomes "Flames". Even a single blow from an Oni that combines high-rank STR, Rank A Monstrous Strength, and Rank A Mana Burst would result in an astounding amount of destructive force, devastating the target. - Disengage A: the ability to withdraw from the battlefield in the midst of combat or reset the battle conditions. Has the bonus effect of returning battle conditions to what they were at the beginning of the fight, and restores the condition of this Skill to its initial value. At the same time, it forcibly releases curses and status ailments inflicted on the user of this Skill. - Morph A: it's possible for her to shapeshift to other forms, such as a child or even a giant. Since her basic physical frame no longer grows anymore, Ibaraki-douji uses this skill to the extreme, zealously striving everyday to become the great oni anyone and everyone would fear. Not made of steel tempered by fire of hell, it is made of the bones of demonkin, the firmest and most solid above land. For several hundred days it was tempered into first-rate sword, swung beneath the moonlit night with a demonic aura drifting about its blade. Normally it is properly attached, but she can freely detach and manipulate it, making it flutter about in the sky or even having it act as an offensive weapon. Her fist, clad in the dreadful, sweltering heat of the oni kin, enlarges in size, just like that of a great oni. It then tears through the enemy lines and destroys them.
