"Get behind me," Margaret puts a protective arm in front of the children, then bends down whispers to them. "I need you to be courageous for me, okay?" "But I'm scared," the little girl whimpers. "I know, sweetie. But having courage is being able to be brave when you're scared. She turns to the little boy. "If, when, I tell you to, I need you to take your sister and run. Run as fast and as far as you can." "But-" "No buts. Book-worm and I can handle ourselves, okay? And you too, you'll make it out there, I know it. Stay safe and protect each other." "Can we say something?" the little boy speaks up. "Of course," Margaret nods. "I-we don't know you very well, but your children are very lucky." "Thank you," Margaret whispers, her cheeks heating and tears in her eyes. Wiping them away, she straightens. "My name is Margaret Fay, and this is Book-worm. Please, we don't want any trouble, but I found these children and I was going to feed them and warm them up until we find family, or someone else suitable to look after them. My other colleagues are looking for other survivors as we speak, so we may help them in any way we can." Margaret tells the knight, her voice soft but clear.
