Name: Saudagrimm (Saudgrimm, Grimm) Age: 25 Gender: Male Race: Yektishian (Alien) Appearance: Personality: Saudagrimm's people are that of a lively, carefree bunch. The same had been true for him, until some years ago. Because he knows there are those who are looking for him, he as spent years suppressing his emotions as a means of survival in order to restrict his power - and that has changed him. Now, those who meet him would likely describe the Yektishian as a stoic, watchful individual who gets his point across swiftly; that set expression of seriousness always present. History:
Saudagrimm hails from the planet Yektish, where he and his people live peacefully, without many visitors. Despite their relative isolation, Yektishians are valued for a unique physical trait their race is gifted with - a 'Ki battery' organ, of sorts. This same organ replaces the species' need for lungs, as their body is sustained via mineral and nutrient absorption, as opposed to the use of oxygen. Despite their ability to reach a somewhat average power level through passive absorption, the Yektishians never developed to use the power beyond basic body enhancement and flight. Naturally, their power level is very low - generally in the double digits in fact. However, due to their racial benefit, Yektishians are quite coveted in the slave trade market. Saudagrimm experienced this firsthand as his small planet was assaulted by a group of Slavers accompanied by a mercenary escort. His people attempted to negotiate, however the Slavers were not interested. The mercenaries began to cut down the more resistant civilians as the rest were shoveled onto the Slaver's ships, as they were pretty much completely defenseless. Scared and worried, the Yektishians awaited their fate. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, Saudagrimm was the sole escapee of his race that day. The ships were intercepted by someone or something, and mostly rendered inoperable for a time - and in the commotion he was able to escape via a pod. When Saudagrimm's pod finally landed, he sustained heavy injuries, as it was not of the best quality or repair. Said landing seemed to go unnoticed - until one individual arrived and retrieved Saudagrimm, taking him to his home to nurture him back to health. It was some time before the Yektishian recovered. While this may have seemed like some god had been smiling down on Saudagrimm, his caretaker had darker intentions. The older man planned to use the foreigner as a massive ki battery and slave for his own deeds. He began to fuse the power of countless individuals, whom he had captured or killed, into the recovering Yektishian by using magic. When Saudagrimm recovered from his wounds and discovered that the much older man had been essentially feeding him the energies of innocent casualties, he was horrified. In a display of rage his power level flared beyond what it had ever even got close to meeting before, as he exploded through the building and directly into the black void of space. He didn't know where he was going, and he didn't care. He was furious and mortified that he had been the subject of such events. Eventually, Saudagrimm reached another planet he had never seen before(that's probably a theme). Upon landing, it was easily identifiable as Earth, as he knew the beings here were not Saiyans. After some weeks of surviving on Earth, he realized that the power he had absorbed was not simply absorbed by the battery organ he possessed, but by his body. It was permanent, and he felt incredibly powerful. But it sickened him. Just thinking about it filled him with sorrow and anger. He soon realized that the more he dwelled on it, the more his power flared. And that was...not great. Eventually, Saudagrimm was confronted by two individuals who came from off-world. They had been traveling through the system trying to find him, and they could do so from quite a ways away when his feelings flared up. The man who had done this to him was trying to re-claim him. While Grimm had next to no training when it came to combat, his raw power was quite...explosive, the two soon came to realize. He released his anger as they confronted him and one was crippled almost immediately. The second individual attempted to flee but was caught by another unbridled Ki blast. Saudagrimm stared at his own hands as he dropped to his knees, woe washing over the anger he felt as he imagined the energy of those people flowing through him. The old man had underestimated the power he'd bestowed upon the Yektishian, but he wouldn't likely do it again. He'd send more, better captors. So the lone Grimm knew he had to somehow suppress this power so they couldn't detect him. He had to seek a mentor for his powers. And that he did.
Techniques: [abbr=Saudagrimm's signature advantage over his opponents. When hit center-mass by a Ki attack, or when intercepting a Ki attack with his arms, Grimm will absorb a portion of the Ki behind the attack proportional to the attack's strength - note that this does not reduce the attack's power. Basic melee strikes backed by Ki will give next to nothing to the battery, but other techniques can provide as much as their strength allows, up to about a third of Saudagrimm's general power level.]Ki Battery[/abbr] [abbr=A supportive tool, Saudagrimm can use this technique to redirect his and his allies' attacks if they miss, or even halt them in place if he desires. Doing so requires little Ki on his part. Additionally, he can redirect opponent's attacks as well, but this is much more difficult, taking more Ki and a great deal of focus - so it can almost never be done while he is being assaulted directly, unless the attack is simple like a Ki blast. It also can not redirect very powerful attacks from enemies, such as Galicka Gun or Kamehameha.]Ki Redirection[/abbr] [abbr=Saudagrimm initiates this maneuver by tapping either his forehead or his chest with two fingers before striking his opponent with them. The strike is not powerful, but it causes all the Ki within the target's body to rapidly travel to their head. Its effect being that the target is blinded by their own Ki, and they become physically paralyzed for a very short duration of one or two seconds. Additionally, Grimm can perform this technique by striking the center of a mass of Ki, using the Ki to create a beam of energy - turning it into a very accurate ranged attack with low damage and the same Ki Shock effect. Striking an attack in this manner doesn't negate any of its effects.]Ki Shock[/abbr] [abbr=Saudagrimm can summon up to four clones that resemble himself. They are just as powerful as he is, but can only withstand one attack, and cannot absorb any Ki.]Cloning[/abbr] Notes:
-Saudagrimm can generally only redirect an opponents attack by a few feet, when using Ki Redirection. -Interestingly, Saudagrimm's flesh does not scar or burn, despite his regular contact with attacks - though this doesn't lessen any attack's effects. -Tails of Yektishians are sensitive like many other furred beings, but they do not have the power restricting effect of the Saiyan's tail. -Saudagrimm's potential is quite a bit higher than it sits currently; having suppressed his emotions for years to avoid detection, his true strength lies dormant - and he is hopeless to extract it. -Ki Shock is inspired by Solar Flare; however since it is now a contact move and is single-target it gains the additional paralysis effect.
