This is tagged 18+ [i]not[/i] because I want there to be smut/lewd content (though there is a possibility). It's because I'm an adult, I want you to be an adult, and adult content that involves gore, violence, drug use, mental instabilities, sex, etc are all things that could happen. 

I like dark and gritty stuff as much as I like light and fluffy stuff.

Alright. So I've decided to take a different approach to partner searching and decided this will be my bump thread. If it appears on here, it's what I'm interested in. If it's not on here, I'm probably not interested. With that said...

[*] I'm over 21, and prefer RPs that involve mature content. This doesn't necessarily mean erotic situations (though I have no issues RPing that) but more that characters cuss, violence happens, situations can get gory, and things may get dark (i.e. taboo situations, mental instabilities, etc.) 

[*] Posting isn't a very consistent thing for me. I have a family with little ones (so I don't always have the ability to jump on my computer), and a job that keeps me in constant flux (mostly just a matter of stress making it hard to think creatively even if I can carry on a conversation OOC). So I hope my partner will be understanding of this.

[*] I can play males and females, and mostly play heterosexuals, though I do have some homosexual, bisexual, and asexual/nonsexual/sapiosexual characters. I don't mean to be a prude, but I am uncomfortable having characters with romantic entanglements with gender/sexuality outside of that spectrum in an RP. You yourself can be whatever - I’m not going to ask and you don’t have to tell - and I don't mind talking about it with you if that's something you want to do. It’s more a discomfort from lack of exposure and a decision to not push myself into getting more exposure.
As far as RPing goes, it makes me uncomfortable. Sorry, not sorry.

[*] I am only willing to RP via PM. This is more convenient for me, as it keeps me from having to censor my writing for forum posts and I honestly don’t write to have an audience for a 1x1 setting. 

[*] I prefer to involve romance in my RPs. It doesn't have to (and shouldn’t) be love at first sight. Slow burn romance (dislike one another at first, just working side by side and eventually realize there may be something more there, instacrush that is suppressed, etc.) is preferred but not necessary. 

Lust at first sight - now that’s a different story entirely.

[*] I can post anything from a paragraph to more than ten paragraphs and generally have good grammar, though my posting style varies depending on my character. I don't like one-liners, or posts with very little substance (i.e. doesn't further a conversation, move the plot, showcase character, or other things that give me insight into the character, or something to respond to.)

[*] I like doing character sheets. Just putting that out there.

[hider=A quick note on writing.]Please understand, I am generally high casual to advanced. I can generally manage to respond to anything that has at least a few sentences. 

However, I tend to have issues writing with people that write lengthy posts that turn out to mostly be a few run-on sentences (this sentence for example) or continuously writing in a passive voice *not actually acting, but thinking of action or having the potential for action, but the character isn't definitively performing an action.*

I'm willing to give it a go, but I can only write opposite that kind of writing voice for so long. 

[b][color=yellow]If you are that kind of writer, that is fine. I'm not judging you. I'm sure you have other partners that have no problem with that style. I'm glad you have a style you enjoy writing and a voice of your own.[/color][/b] Just understand, my style does not do well in combination with yours. My muse does not work when I continually try to force him to translate a passive voice into an actionable response.

If you are that kind of writer, and want to try to change - I'm willing to give you a shot and stick to it if you tell me in advance. If you want to take on a more active writing style, I will always be willing to give you pointers on how to change your responses to give it a more active voice. But I'm not going to critique your writing unless you ask. It's not my place to tell you how to write. It's not fun for either of us.[/hider]

It's a week into the school year. For the last few days, C1 has been hearing tons of rumors about a mysterious new student that would be starting. A new student that used to go to the school district back in elementary school, but had stopped to go become an actor/actress/singer/idol. C1 knows the person, but not because of their fame - but because they used to be in the same classes when the other was still a student there.

The day has come, though. C2 is supposed to start school. A prospect both thrilling and terrifying. What's changed in the years since C2 last went to school? What's going to be waiting for them, and how much of a hassle will being pretty well known (or famous depending on C2's modesty) cause them with trying to integrate into being a student again?

As it turns out a lot of trouble. C1 and C2 are in a class or two together, and C1 is the only one so far that didn't care about C2's fame and fortune. By lunch, C2 is not just swarmed by [gender], but being pressured by a few [opposite gender] to agree to dates. Fed up, C2 spots C1 and declares very loudly that C1 is C2's [boyfriend/girlfriend]. Much to the surprise of C1 and the rest of the students present. 

After secluding themselves, C2 convinces C1 to play the part (because of course) and from there they play their roles. But are they both just playing? Does one develop feelings the other doesn't truly have? And what about the famous significant other all the magazines say C2 has; is it real or just tabloid romance?[/hider]

C1 and C2 were close...maybe they grew up close because they were neighbors, or just because they were friends, or maybe they even dated in high school. But they were close. Until C1 moved away junior year of high school. 
C2 went on a much different path than they maybe would have if C1 hadn't, but it set a path. C2 joined a branch of the military and eventually ended up on Black Ops to the point of joining the CIA. C2's path has been constantly moving forward, because very glance back reminded them of C1. 
C1, on the other hand, while hurt by the loss of C2 with the move wasn't thrown for too much of a loop. They continued on, went to college, got a career. C2 was a memory, but a good one. A cherished one.

Flash forward to the start of our story. C1 - for whatever the reason - is in a war torn country. Rebels fighting the government, religious or radical sect trying to gain supremacy, terrorist cells making life hazardous - we can discuss why it's war torn. But C1 is there because their career lead them there (field journalist, working with doctors without borders or humanitarian aid, or maybe just the misfortune of ending up stopping in a hot zone). One of the opposition/terrorist/whatever groups takes them with plans to use the hostage for ransom or just a demonstration of power. The group releases a video - or the news outlet for the country showcases a glimpse of the abduction.

Before the group can carry through on actually hurting C1, C2 bursts through the door of the place the group is holding C1. A one man army, dispatching those holding C1 hostage. See, C2 had been part of a team stationed in the country to carry out a mission for their organization, but deserted upon seeing C1's abduction/hostage footage.

--Okay, so that's just the start of the RP, but there's still a lot to discuss and decide. Like where do we go from there and exactly what landscape are we dealing with in the country. There's a lot we can do with it. [/hider]
[hider=Chasing Leads **] College Setting - Student x Student

C1 is a college student, at least 18 years old. Her family is rumored to run one of the largest crime syndicates on the East Coast. They're said to be involved in everything, and a few families/smaller crime syndicates are said to pay them respects. Maybe she knows the truth behind her family's fortune; maybe she doesn't. Maybe the truth is that the family business, while ethically questionable, is completely legitimate. 
C2 has been training to be a special agent for a cross-agency organization since he was a teen. Now, he's finally passed the tests to become a full fledged agent and not just an intern working behind the scenes. His first assignment? Find out more information about C1's family. So C2 enrolls in the same college C1 attends in order to chum up to C1 and hopefully find out more about her family.
As C2 gets closer to C1, will romance blossom? Can C2 fulfill the assignment if it means potentially putting C1 in danger, even if they are just friends?

Note - I would prefer this be MxF. I do not have a preference for which role I play. Please know that this will mostly be a Slice of Life kind of RP that may evolve into action.[/hider]
