[@Ascendant] Magic will be it's very own thing, completely detached from what we have right here! It will have it's own little tech tree thingy, that really isn't all that much a tech tree XD

Once magic happens (soon[sup]tm[/sup], I want everyone to at least get the ability to form a crude language) then you will have the option to do many things. One such option is the ability to acquire telepathy, or similar abilities as results of magical anomalies or research. And in your case, probably just get them because it reminds me a lot of a race I made a year or two ago and really liked. I won't hide my bias :lol
