His unusual childhood moulded him into the man he is today, his father’s nomadic lifestyle imbuing William with an easy charm, able to quickly blend into his surroundings, and quickly have strangers considering him a fast friend. And now, in his father’s absence, he continues that strange lifestyle, and it continues to mould him. 

William is a man of contradiction. He has the social grace and charisma to identify him as a member of the gentry, or even the peers, and he has certainly been known to mingle in those circles, and yet he possesses little wealth, and thanks to his father, no title. The only legacy that he has inherited is the ‘impossible’ quest. But he refuses to accept his standing in the world; he is all too aware of his good looks, and his talent, and he often uses the two without much thought for the consequences. 

Despite his own wildness, William does not shy away from the dangers of the Soulless. A naturally intelligent man, and possessing the heart of a lion, William was still a boy when the creatures began to appear, but he has quickly proven himself able to stand the test against this new evil.
