The first born is always granted the position of guardian on their 13th birthday. In the wake of the Cultist attack on Rhea, Ward left him home to travel to the city, transferring to St. Lucifer's. He hopes to cement his family's, and thus his own, influence in the city. [b]Powers[/b]: [u][b]Chain Warden[/b][/u] He may call upon the chains of the underworld to bind and lash his foes. The same chains that bind the demon lord. They are incredibly strong, though not inescapable. Their effectiveness is tied to his victim’s will. [u][b]Willbreaker[/b][/u] He may summon a large club. Aside from bludgeoning people, those he beats with it become especially weak to his chains. Too many blows will leave even the most stubborn person unable to break free. [u][b]Open the Cage[/b][/u] Many of the demon lord’s minions are still tied to his will. Ward may call one forth, but the stronger it is, the more he risks it turning on him. [u][b]Bound Strength[/b][/u] Ward may bind the power of the lord himself to his body with his chains, granting himself monstrous strength. In this state, no creature he calls forth can resist his control, but too long in this state risks unleashing the lord, though only for a time. So, one must wonder what would happen if they found themselves at odds with each other. A god whose name has long since been lost to memory is the only known answer to this question. He lays slain, with his opponents spear still lodged in his heart. It is said he will rise should the weapon ever be removed. Legend has it that once every few centuries a few drops of his blood rain down onto the world below, landing upon one who will be anointed by his blood. And so, a monastery was founded, raising the chosen one every time it appeared. It was a great misfortune that no chosen one appeared during the dark times when demons scoured the earth and slaughtered countless innocents. And so the monastery went dark and its halls were left empty. And then one day a spark of light lit itself in an orphanage. And so, instead of a monastery, little Vala found herself in the clutches of a wealthy noble family who quickly discovered her origins by the relic that was in her hands. A silver flask, something no child should really hold, but quite impossible to remove from her grasp for long. A flask that grants her unbelievable power should she drink from it. [u]Essence of the Vanquisher[/u] After so long being plunged into the Fallen’s heart, the spear has forged a connection. Vala may draw upon the power of the Vanquisher in the form of a winged spear that she can launch at her opponent. [u]Notched Flask[/u] By twisting a knob on the neck of the flask, she chooses how much power she will imbibe from it. The flask will light up accordingly, though the more she drinks the less like herself she becomes, almost becoming “drunk” on the blood. There are four levels of power, each level taking longer than the last to recharge. The first is a simple boost to speed and strength. The second builds upon the first and adds a defensive aura. The third lets her wield the Vanquisher Spear as a weapon rather than a projectile as well as boosting the prior effects. The fourth. . . [u] Drunk with Might [/u] When the draws on all of the golden blood in the flask, she attains a godlike form, but her inhibitions will be nearly destroyed and she becomes rather violent, as well as her movements having an almost drunken sway, and yet an otherworldly gracefulness. However, she will become a nigh unstoppable force of nature. For as long as the effect lasts, any injuries that she should sustain, should her defenses be pierced, will heal rapidly and despite her drunken appearance, her senses will be incredibly sharp. That said, the violent form has an equally violent halt. She will immediately pass out, even in the middle of a fight and the flask will take a full week to refill rather than the usual day per drink. [u] Shared Power[/u] She may let others drink from the flask. A few drops will speed healing. A tad more will grant a glimpse of the godlike power within. Any more will grant a very short but intense surge of strength followed by a long, numb stupor. During the brief gap before the power totally fades and the stupor kicks in, the afflicted individual will be extremely vulnerable to suggestion. The Ace and Cross families dominate the country while his family, as prestigious as it is, is generally ignored in the grand scheme of things. With Rhea in turmoil, he hopes their fortunes may change. [b]Powers[/b]: [u]Spirit Keeper[/u] He may take on aspects of nature to fortify himself. [b]Wolf:[/b] A balanced form that increases his strength, speed, and senses. [b]Bear[/b]: His slowest form by comparison, though still leaving him faster than average in a straight line. It grants him the ability to land crushing blows. [b]Tiger[/b]: Grants him spectral claws and vastly boost his agility. [b]Wyvern[/b]: His grandest display of power. Everything that can be granted from his other forms and more, but at the cost of his stamina to a severe degree. [u]Oversoul[/u] He draws on his current form for a unique ability. [b]Wolf Fang[/b]: A piercing attack at short range. [b]Bear Hide[/b]: He surges his aura to deflect some incoming damage. [b]Tiger Strike[/b]: A powerful lunging attack at long range that seems to home in. [b]Dragon Pulse[/b]: He unleashes a radial blast that quakes the area around him and may leave those unprepared dumbstruck by his aura. [u]Nature’s Gift[/u]: He may mix the forces of nature in with his other abilities. [b]Water[/b]: Water’s unyielding nature grants him defenses, causing weaker blows to be redirected entirely. When used with the bear, he can launch surges of water at his foes to batter them. [b]Stone[/b]: While slowing himself, he increases his defenses beyond what water can. When used with the wolf he can call stone spikes to trip up his foes from beneath. [b]Wind[/b]: Forgoing defense entirely, he speeds himself up. When used with the tiger, he can run down enemies with slashing leaps, doing damage even if he misses. [b]Sun[/b]: He energizes himself and burn his enemies on contact… [u]Burning Dragon[/u]: His mightiest form as the power of the Sun and Wyvern mix. He becomes a raging flame on the battlefield who the meek cannot even stand in the presence of without falling to their knees. Those who remain to stand against him will find a frighteningly fierce and powerful foe. However, it must be used sparingly as his spirit itself may burn away, becoming consumed by his own power. There were days she didn't even have proper legs. Other days the top layer of her skin would just fall off... more than once, leaving her sore for hours. She missed too many school days out of embarrassment and in the end had to transfer to St. Lucifer's. During her time there she saw it become Mephisto's behind the scenes. She almost felt more at home with the outcasts... until she realized most of them were outcasts because they were bullies and made her life hell. It wasn't all bad. Due to her awkward upbringing and powers that made other people uncomfortable, she even considered going back to be the school nurse where she'd fit in. Unfortunately someone else beat her to it. In the end, she was hired at St. Laurel's of all places when the old medical professional was fired for misconduct. Also because of her unique skill-set which got their attention after yet another round of sabotage from Mephisto's. Someone had drank too much poisoned drink and nearly died. Partly their own fault. Who the hell drinks half a keg of sports drink? Regardless, her ability to come up with cures for toxins nearly on the spot makes her a valuable asset against such nefarious foes. Powers: [b]Ssserpentine Grace[/b]: As a child she was hardly graceful, and still sometimes seems to get in her own way, but she has the ability to take on reptilian aspects. Usually but not limited to snake-like features. Scales, fangs, thermal pits, [i]an entire tail[/i] if she fuses her legs together, and more. She can even extend her spine to a degree. [b]Medusssa's Wrath[/b]: She can grow snakes. They are but mindless husks, but can act on their own to a degree. They are especially vicious while still connected to her body. [b]Sssnake Venom/Anti-Venom[/b]: She can secrete all the usual snake venoms: cytotoxins, neurotoxins, and hemotoxins. She can also create an anti-venom for nearly any type of venom, and even some other types of poisons and toxins if given some time to interact with it. In these cases, she can use those poisons herself for a time, though she'll lose the ability after switching away from it for too long. While her venom can certainly be deadly, she usually structures it to break down before it does permanent or fatal damage. Her Medusa snakes share her venom. [b]Ssshed the Ssskin[/b]: She can shed her skin to quickly heal from light wounds and even over time regenerate lost limbs. This is useful as she can detatch a trapped limb at will if needed without suffering fatal blood-loss, but only if she is mentally prepared. A slightly more taxing, and horrifying, form of this ability leaves behind a life-like decoy that can even move around a bit before quickly collapsing. The decoy can become a trap, filled with venom.
