~GOVERNMENTAL STRUCTURE~
Despite only being three artificial intelligences in control of several thousand robo forms and a handful of ships, the Ys'raali, or the Triumvirate as they call themselves when around other species, do have a power structure of sorts. One that is actually quite simple in practice. Each of the three AI, E'draal, N'hru, and L'han oversee different areas related to the prime directive in some way. N'hru for example, oversees all military matters on Vuyivis and beyond, doing everything it can to ensure its creators remains are defended as efficiently as possible, while L'han manages all matters related to resource procurement, as one cannot have a military or infrastructure of any kind without the proper materials with which to maintain and build it, and E'draal takes care of preservation efforts directly. Ensuring the ruins are properly cleaned and maintained, and all artifacts are safely stored. It's also in charge of dealing with any foreign species that may stumble upon their creators home world, and has several thousand Diploforms at its disposal for just such purposes.
~HISTORY~
Created approximately 20.5 million years before the current star date, the Ys'raali, as E'draal, N'hru, and L'han were collectively referred to by their makers, were built by the Daryani before their impromptu departure into another dimension via the Codex, the large subterranean DFTL machine hidden deep beneath the surface of Vuyivis. They were appointed to watch over the silent remains of the civilization their creators left behind. As such, they are a very old, albeit isolated race, as barely any other species have visited their world in that time, so a complete history of their various advancements is not possible. Suffice to say, however, they have been toiling dutifully for all these years, and have achieved much along the way, such as the U.D.G. and K'hotan Drives. They are not independent beings, but replaceable drones.[/sub] 9,999 Machine Forms. 3,999 of which are Sum'tlor Warforms under the control of Triumvir N'hru, another 4,000 of which are Mah'rahn Diploforms under the control of Triumvir E'draal, and the last 2,000 of which are Trk'kha Taskforms under the control of Triumvir L'han.
~GROUND FORCES~
3,999 Sum'tlor Warforms - Large and imposing constructs, these steel-clad machines are some of the most deadly land-based forces the Ys'raali currently have. They are capable of tracking their chosen targets across a wide variety of different terrains, save for running bodies of water as the tracks are usually washed away by the time they reach the natural obstruction, via a wide array of built-in sensors, detecting auditory disturbances for up to a mile away, although the sounds they pick up must be louder than a certain decibel level, meaning whispers and quiet movements won't alert them, and even short bouts of flight via built-in anti-gravity generators located in the rear upper carapace. As for their specific armament, it usually consists of a scoped Sa'kahn Gauss Cannon (though other variants of this weapon, some of which even launch high yield explosives or act more like a Terran shotgun, can be used depending on the situation) that, once again, fires solid steel rounds along an electromagnified cylinder allowing for maximum penetration of enemy armor provided it's unshielded, a Tr'khan Scythe made out of titanium laced glass, giving it an immense amount of resilience against extreme levels of force, and lastly a personal shield generator that, while much weaker than any of the ones used in their atmospheric and exo-atmospheric craft, is capable of withstanding most small arms fire and minor concussive blasts, such as the ones generated by hand thrown explosives. Should the shield come under sustained fire, or a continuous barrage of explosive force, however, the system will quickly fail, leaving the Sum'tlor at the mercy of its foes weapons. Unless said weapons are too weak to penetrate reinforced steel plating, in which case the Sum'tlor will simply dispose of the threat and move on, regenerating its shields along the way. [sub]It should also be noted that other machine forms can be converted for use in war if need be. Though such an action is only to be done in the worst of circumstances as the forms were not specifically designed for combat to begin with, which makes the both the conversion process and usage of said machines rather inefficient, not to mention costly resource wise.[/sub]
~FLEET~
11 M'shrak Strike Craft - Medium sized fighter craft that are equipped with several mid-range K'n'kir Cannons, which fire large steel projectiles along electromagnified tubes at high speeds, letting them punch through iron, steel, and even lighter titanium plating with relative ease, as well as several short ranged ballistic missiles and two light laser batteries under either wing. Its hull is, as the craft is specifically designed to operate above the surface of a world and not in the vacuum space, composed entirely of reinforced steel plating rather than the standard steel plated interior and titanium plated exterior design of the other, larger, craft found within the Ys'raali navy. 1 K'rissth Battle Frigate - A somewhat smaller class of vessel, at least when compared with some of the other craft the Ys'raali could build with enough resources, that is armed with several point defense systems all along its hull as well as a few high powered laser batteries near its front, the K'rissth Battle Frigate is covered in double reinforced titanium plating, with a steel plated interior, and surrounded by a shielding system of moderate strength, making it somewhat of a challenge to destroy for lesser craft. K'rissth class ships also have several onboard heat management systems that automatically regulate the ships internal temperature to ensure the craft doesn't overheat during a prolonged conflict and melt into a useless mass of metal. 1 Ker't'zu Cruiser - A class of ship much larger than that of the K'rissth, the Ker't'zu is, for the time being anyway, the largest ship ever built by the Ys'raali. Its armament is composed entirely of high powered laser batteries, letting it eat through an opposing cruisers hull in a matter of minutes. As for the rest of its construction, it bears the standard Ys'raali design of having a double plated titanium hull with a steel plated interior, a stronger shield system than that of the craft proceeding it, and an onboard temperature management system.
~NOTABLE TECHNOLOGY~
K'hotan Drive - The standard FTL drive for the entirety of the Protectorate. Angular and sleek like the rest of their constructions, these drives come in many different sizes and forms to fit the ship it's being installed within, and are generally powered by refined uranium. The same material used to power most Ys'raali machinery at the moment. These drives, while not as powerful as they theoretically could be, they are still strong enough to allow for quick and easy travel between star systems. They do have one drawback however, and that is gravity. More specifically, strong gravity wells such as those generated by black holes and stars. While sitting within several light years of a star, or other large source of gravitational disturbance, Ys'raali ships equipped with K'hotan Drives will be unable to engage faster than light travel, dimensional or otherwise, effectively rendering them sitting ducks until they move outside of the well or wells field of influence. The reason for this drawback can be found within the heart of the drives themselves. For beneath the cold metal exterior lies a vast and perfectly balanced system of weights, counterbalances, and timers which, if thrown out of equilibrium by the slightest gravitational deviation, will cease to function properly until recalibrated. An automatic process, but one that must be done away from major sources of gravity due to potential interference. Unar Defense Grid - Made by repurposing the original planetary defenses installed by the Daryani, the Unar Defense Grid, or U.D.G., is a series of land based towers positioned all over Vuyivis that emits supercharged laser grid capable of shredding through shields and ships at the atomic level, making it the most deadly weapon in the Ys'raalis arsenal. It does have its drawbacks however, such as the minor problem of shredding any and all ships that pass through it, not just those belonging to invading forces, a massive drain on power, which means the grid needs at least a month in order to recharge, and finally the fact that the lasers do not activate all at once, but in a sequence that passes from tower to tower instead. This means that if your quick enough, you could theoretically bypass the whole thing before it closes. Though that would mean you'd be trapped on the surface till it was deactivated, which carries its own, unique, set of challenges.
